Darius POV
Out of all the things that could happen between the two of them, this was pretty high on the list. It happening as soon as it did was not expected though. I pinch the bridge of my nose and groan. Katarina came into my house with tears in her eyes. My daughter and wife are doing what they can to help her settle down but it's clear there is only one way to calm her.
Draven: And you need my help with this?
Darius: Unlike Kat, your record on sneaking around is basically unchallenged. Obviously, there is something motivating Y/N to act this way. Besides, he's going to be an emotional wreck as well.
Draven: These two have had a lot of lover's quarrels in such a short span of time. Might set a record soon.
Darius: Be serious about this Draven. Swain has been wanting Kat to open up about her past for years now and the guy who got her to do it is out there probably doing stupid shit.
Draven: Right right. I'll see if I can find him and report back about yada yada.
He shoots up from the couch and proceeds to casually walk out. I sigh and shake my head. He acts like he doesn't care but everyone knows he does. He wouldn't have stopped the two when they first came to blows if he didn't. Quilletta then walks into the room with a weak smile.
Darius: How is she?
Quilletta: She stopped crying a few minutes ago. I'm glad her relationship with Invetia is as healthy as it is.
Darius: She's one of the few people Kat can tolerate and not threaten at the same time. I'll never understand why either.
Probably a girl thing I don't want to know about. An entertaining thought though. I get up and give my wife a kiss before gently gripping her hand.
Darius: I'm sorry I can't pay as much attention to you right now. Work is hectic as always.
Quilletta: Not a problem. I know you'll always come back.
I smile and nod before letting her go and heading to Invetia's room. Before I could even give it a light tap, Katarina opens it up. She still looked pretty rough. At least her senses are still sharp.
Darius: Ready to talk? It will do you some good.
Katarina: What else can I do? Moping about it won't get me shit anyways.
With a slight gesture of my head, she begins to follow me to the backyard where we sit on the bench. I don't even have to ask her for the details cause she just starts talking about it. I can understand both their point of views. Katarina understands that revenge is a sickness that will only make your life worse, but Y/N feels that not avenging his sister would make him a bad brother. There is just one issue with all of this.
They're both fucking stupid.
Darius: Alright. Lets look at things from a different perspective.
Katarina: A different perspective? Darius, how else can we look at this?
Darius: You both are basically two sides of the same coin. Both relate to revenge. If you understand it so much, then why not try to convince him to not do it for revenge but for the sake of others?
Katarina: That's so cliche and utter bullshit Darius! At that point, you may as well just be saying that you can get revenge but in a better light.
Darius: That may be true, but stopping a murderer from killing more people is not wrong in my book. You just get the added benefit of bringing yourself some peace. You can either seek revenge, therefore fight for yourself or seek justice and fight for everyone. Sometimes, it's better to lie to yourself and believe that lie then give into your own hatred and anger.
