I've been in this room for about a month now. It has everything I need. A bed, art, music. Why would I complain?

"Callestor! Open up! There's a stranger and we're on a lockdown!"

I opened the door and poked my head out.

"Nice try Siph!"

I slammed the door leaving Siph in her agitated stomping mess. Her feet clapped against the floor as she spit out her usual nonsense to me.

"At least let me in Callestor."

Like that's gonna work on me Siphy. It's a nice try though, but I no longer feel the need to pity you. The isolation consumed me. Just enough to know that I can get by.

"Why should I let you in?"

"Keighr wants to see you."

I cringed. That was quite a low blow she did there.... But I could beat it.

"You little lying prick- You had no fucking right! Go back to being fucking messed or something! It's not like I'll ever let you in anyways. You're nothing more than a lab rat and you know it so why can't you just up and leave me alone?"

That probably hit her hard considering how she's always been self-conscious. That's exactly what I wanted to do anyways.

"You didn't have to be so rude-"

"CAN YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?!"

Silence.

"...Callestor! Please. Just let me in!"

"And why? Is Keighr gonna magically appear out of thin air? Nice try, I didn't know you could be so oblivious and insensitive. So fucking stupid and childish how DARE you bring him up I swear once I find my way out of this hell hole you'll-"

I felt something too familiar. Something salty like the ponds I would capture the fish from. No longer there to express emotion. Only there when they're needed.

"I just wanna talk."

For once I didn't want her to leave. I knew I needed her here... but maybe not until I truly know her intent.

"It doesn't matter Siph. You don't care. It's fine- I'm used to it."

"I'm coming in."

The door, without warning, clicked and opened by the freak of nature. Siph.
Of course... everyone's a freak here. But her, she leaves everyone outnumbered. Something about her always left everyone enamored. Perhaps it was the way her hair fell just above her shoulders. Or the way her cheeks would turn a muted shade of pink every time she was feeling a bit coy.

"Siph. Get out."

"Not until we talk."

"Give me the damn key."

"No! Not... Until... We Talk!"

At this point I was close to purely pulling the "faint" trick just so this brat could give me the damn key.

"What's to talk about?!"

Siph yanked my ear and took me to the bed. Damn. Training changed everyone here.

"Sit!"

Phew! That could've led to so many things! I may be fucking depressed, but I'm sure I'm still just as irresistible... nah.

"Umm... Yeah, okay."

Siph sat uncomfortably close to me making me cringe a bit. Does she not know me?

"Oh! Sorry. I forgot."

She scooted away making me feel a lot better. I no longer felt so tense. My body slumped down as I relaxed my muscles.

"Callestor. You are such a great person. And I'm not just saying that so you would finally go outside. I'm saying that because it's true."

I sighed for a moment.

"Stop saying that."

"But it's true."

"No... It's not. It's not. It's not!"

I could feel the anger in me. It was riveting.

"Callestor calm down... please. It's gonna be okay. Breathe."

I started clamping my hair together and tugging on the locks I had in my hands.

"Callestor. Calm down."

Dearest Big Brother,
I'm scared. I'm so scared-

"Callestor. I'm here."

I was brought back to reality when I felt a sudden warm embrace. It was Siph. Her melancholy hiccups stained my shirt as she held on to me a little tighter.

"Callestor. Don't do this. I'm here for you. So is Ms. Marsen and janitor Joe. Please Callestor. We need you here... I need you."

As I began sighing, I felt my eyes blurring as fresh tears started to form. Never have I felt so vulnerable. At least not with this much company.

"I'm trying Siph. I'm trying to escape! I just... can't. I'm sorry."

She kept her grip tight as she breathed down my neck.

"Callestor?"

"Yeah?"

"It's really weird how we can suddenly fall into the order again. It's so boring!"

I giggled.
