It's putting yourself aside
It's making sure they smile
It's always making sure they're fed
So they're not too cranky like a crocodile
It's acknowledging self love
Despite the rules of beauty
It's realizing you're human
When you get a little moody
It's learning slowly
To embrace your strength
It's praising God
And giving thanks
It's loving your little girl or boy
No matter how they get
It's accepting all of your scars and marks
With no regrets
It's keeping up with their schedule
Working daily like a 9 to 5
But being proud of yourself
When they have you to confide
It's counting every moment
When they begin to sprout
This is what being a mommy
Is all about
