DESCRIPTION : maddie montclaire was dragged along by jason grace on a quest to save hera after a messy breakup. then she dies, and nico di angelo takes her out of the underworld to camp jupiter, where she met reyna.
EXTENDED : death was something that madeline montclaire knew personally. as a daughter of hades, her presence was just . . . death. she'd told no one until she used her powers during the titan war, then people started flocking to her like flies. she'd hated that so much, but sherman yang* had asked her out, and she'd agreed, stupidly. he was only using her for her newfound popularity, and then dumped her when miranda gardiner* was single. after that had happened, maddie was whisked on a quest with jason grace, piper mclean, and leo valdez. they weren't that bad overall. maddie liked them enough. even though they were all weirdos overall — death followed leo and jason around. and that was fine, they avoided death too many times to count, and maddie didn't like that, even after she'd survived the fucking titan war ( which was mostly because of her powers, her fighting was awful ) and had encountered death too much to count. then she literally did die, by hera. and, boy, did her life change after getting into camp jupiter.

— literally just a feel good story. that's all this is.
— maddie could literally date anyone in camp and i would not care. as long as it's a side character and not like fuckin annabeth chase or whatever. and as long as they break up before maddie goes on the save hera quest.
— maddie goes on literally every quest. tlh, son, and the prophecy of 8 quest. after house of hades, she splits to go with reyna and nico and hedge
— she dies on the save hera quest due to the supernova. nico finds her in the underworld and he brings her up to camp jupiter, where she became friends ( and more ) with reyna
— thanatos tells maddie when they save him in son of neptune that he's her father, and the reason why she can't shadow travel is because of this ( oh right she can't shadow travel but she can raise the dead and that kinda stuff )
— maddie and reyna get together by the end of son of neptune and then maddie leaves to do the prophecy of eight quest and it's just a lot of angst because she misses reyna with all her heart and their reunion ugh and maddie doesn't want to do the last two weeks on the argo 2 because she wants to go with reyna and a god tells her that has to go w reyna

— i have a cover for this book but it says 'written by maybel' on it and it has crystal reed on it so if you wanted to use that then you could ig???
— how did i get this far without not describing maddie smh she's quiet and shy and sarcastic and insecure and book smart and her aesthetic is dark academia and she loves playing electric guitar and writing songs about reyna. she loves reading and dogs and coffee and wearing giant sweaters ( preferably reyna's )

— maddie's weapon is basically isabelle lightwood's whip but stygian iron. i love isabelle lightwood.
— happy ending idc if you include toa or not but obviously reyna's not a hunter because she's dating maddie
