Although Edna described them more as habiliments (meaning clothing of a particular occupation), she was happy to add super suits to her fashion portfolio, especially since her social media followers were centupling every twelve seconds.
Centupling. That means multiplying by 100.
Of course, the super suits had been implanted under the guardians' skin, credit to Merlin's spell and Edna's blaster. But why did they activate? What ignited the magic?
As always the answer is science.
When Wendy was injured, the guardians attacked, cueing their flight-or-flight responses. Internally, this triggered a sudden release of cardiovascular catecholamines (adrenalin, norepinphrine), which ultimately activated the super suits beneath their skin via a cliché, totally unoriginal magical transformation sequence.
Science and magic. Just like bacon and eggs.
But what did the super suits look like? And what did they do?
In a perfect world, Edna would have showcased her haute couture creations in a fashion show exclusive. However, since the super suits were top secret and Jim would have rather committed suicide, the catwalk was not an option.
So, Edna texted the explanations to King Arthur instead.
