3 months later

I open my eyes and find myself laying in the middle of a dark room. My head aches as I try to separate it from the freezing cold tile of the floor.

"Gilly?" I hear a voice ask.

The voice sounds pained and hurt.

"Yeah? Who are-" I begin, but I begin coughing before I can finish.

As I look at the ground I can see a splatter of blood where I coughed.

My eyes feel so heavy. I can tell I'm about to pass out.

"Where are we?" I hear a groggy voice ask.

I guess there are more people in the room.

"Hello little Heather. And her little friends too! What a pleasant surprise." A new voice booms.

The voice is farther away than all the other voices and as soon as I hear them my headache becomes worse. The amount of pain makes me curl into myself and I let out a small scream.

"Gilly!" I know this voice. It's the first time they've spoken in this room though.

I feel a pair of arms wrap around me, hugging me. Even with the comfort, my stomach starts to reject everything I ate that's still in it.

I push the person away as I throw up over and over again until there's nothing left to get rid of.

"Where are we?" I ask after I'm done. My voice is far more shaky than I expected it to be.

"We don't know. We all woke up here." Another new, familiar voice.

"Are you all just going to ignore me? Seriously?" The same voice as before. I'll call this one... hmmmm... The Outside Voice. Because they talk loud and they aren't in this room.

I purposefully don't answer the voice and instead start talking to the rest of the people in the room.

"Who else is here?" I question.

"Jax, Hayley, Kayla, AG, Maxine, and Jocelyn." Another new familiar voice. Oh! It's Maxine!

"Pay attention to meeee!!!" The Outside Voice whines.

Then there's a shattering sound followed by sounds of multiple items breaking.

"What in the world?" The Outside Voice says, before getting cut off by what sounds like someone getting kicked in the stomach.

A light comes on and I have to cover my eyes from the sudden brightness. I can tell that my friends are doing the same.

"Hello there. My name's Kit. I work with WISH. I can explain everything at the base, but for now I think we should focus on getting out of here." A completely new voice says.

My eyes finally adjust and I see a figure standing in the doorway.

She has brown eyes and brown hair that fades into midnight blue. She's wearing a black hoodie and black jeans with black lace up books that reach just below her knee.

"What about the students?" I ask, my motherly instincts kicking in.

"Not that much time will pass. Time in our dimension goes by faster than time in this dimension." Kit explains.

"They've already lost a headmistress. They don't need another one to go missing." I say.

"We can always take them with us." Kit shrugs.

"What?! What about their parents?!" I shriek.

"Oh my goodness. Calm down. Like I said, time passes slower here. Look, we really need to go. This is important for more than just this dimension. Are you coming or not?" Kit snaps.

"Not!" I yell.

"Well if you don't come this is going to happen again, but next time I won't be there to save you." Kit glares.

"Gilly, maybe we should go..." AG says, looking off to the side.

I look at where she's looking and see multiple figures running towards us. Kit makes a portal appear and looks pointedly at us.

Kit goes through the portal. After a second of thought, I follow her, my friends behind me.

Suddenly, I'm in a huge lab. People in white coats are running around with bottles of liquid in their hands.

"Looks like you got them, good job." Okay, this voice is way too familiar.

I turn around and see someone who looks exactly like me, only a little younger.

"My name's Gilly. I'm 16, and I can't remember the first 12 years of my life." She says.

"Do you just tell that to everyone you meet?" Jocelyn asks.

Other Gilly laughs.

"No. Only new recruits. Welcome to WISH."
