Time was short, so the two of them quickly changed their clothes and started the performance.

Ye Sui sat on the wooden barrel she would use as the tub for this scene. She was dressed in all black, as if she wore no clothes. It was inevitable that a person would have to play several different characters with different personalities, so she closed her eyes and took a few seconds to get into her role.

Her expression was lazy, her eyes were half closed with a cold gaze, and her voice was faint as she called out, "Who's there?"

Unlike the cold-faced assassin that Pei Ning had portrayed, Ye Sui's assassin was a complete enchantress.

The window was pushed open and Pei Ning jumped in. With a tap of her toes, she landed stably on the ground.

Pei Ning had acted in many action scenes; however, when she auditioned this time, she wanted to have light and ethereal movements. She had studied Ye Sui's expression just now, and her own expression changed to copy her.

But contrary to Pei Ning's expectations, Ye Sui didn't look at her straight on. Rather, she just cast a sidelong glance at her.

Ye Sui didn't even lift her eyes. It seemed that no one could disturb her bath, and she did not care whether the person who suddenly appeared could hurt her.

Ye Sui was a female assassin, so she could deal with the toughest martial artists if they appeared in front of her without even changing her expression.

Ye Sui's lips curled up as she let out a chuckle. "Since you are here, do you think you could leave that easily?"

"I'm just a thief, nothing more." Pei Ning smiled, with an eye-catching look. She tried to imitate Ye Sui's carelessness, but she was not as successful.

"Do you know who I am?" Ye Sui said, gently picking up a white cloth towel. She slowly wiped her hand, but the motion seemed to be more than simply wiping her body.

Instead, it was like a hunter polishing her weapons.

Ye Sui and Pei Ning still did not make eye contact. Pei Ning stepped forward and shortened the distance between the two in a bid to overpower her.

"Your hands are so beautiful. It would be a shame to kill you." Pei Ning's hand fell lightly onto her dagger. Although her tone was soft, the dagger at her waist was already out of its sheath.

There was a sharp contrast between their relaxed tone and the stiffening atmosphere.

Ye Sui finally raised her head at the sound of the dagger being unsheathed.

Her gaze flicked across Pei Ning's face, past her knife, and then back to her face. She then raised her hand slightly, showing her slender fingers.

Ye Sui smiled softly and told the truth to the stranger who she had just met tonight. "Even I have never counted the souls reaped by these hands."

"Oh?" Pei Ning raised her eyebrows, stretched out her hand, and reached toward the bottle on the table. "I'm just here for a drink. Why would you get angry?"

Pei Ning's eyes flashed as she raised the wine bottle and took a sip. She then gently brushed the corners of her lips with her fingers. She wanted to express a sultry attitude of having just finished drinking, but her movements seemed artificial.

But to Pei Ning's surprise, when she finished drinking, Ye Sui had already appeared in front of her.

Ye Sui tilted her head and laughed. There was something evil in the smile, and the image of a demon was ready to emerge. She did not draw her own dagger but took the wine bottle in Pei Ning's hand.
