On The Wilderness

Tasting the bitterness of life,
The pungent sweat of my hardwork;
Swallowing the lump of my pride,
Never would have thought to eat my own words.

For I had been wandering around that wilderness,
Was exhausted, and had been deprived by my father;
As I was yearning for food and water,
I would grasp everything I could possess.

While walking aimlessly on that one atrocious path,
A poor but good Samaritan offered me the good news;
I grabbed it out of desperation and in bewilderment,
As they filled me in with viability and comprehension.

I unclenched my grip and lifted my quivering limbs,
I was, at first, reluctant in acquiring the bread of life with my filthy hands;
Encouraged, I was finishing the living water from  the well
When I went on my knees, for long been roaming, surrendering.

I lied down on that green pastures with a rock on my head,
I was given refuge in their fortress;
I had that deep slumber for the first time of my life,
I slept soundly without apprehension and disquieting.
