Backstory: When Thomas was a child, his father was very abusive to his son he decided to run away. Until he encountered an Uppermoon demon, it was about to devour him until he met one of the Hashira, and as usual they trained him. 4 years passed, he met Rachel at the age of 10, the two became friends and trained together Thomas' father visits him and slapped him in the face at rage and disappointment. Rachel saved Thomas, she knocked his father out of consciousness and was put to jail for abuse. The two started to have romantic feelings. Several years later, Rachel and Thomas now became Hashiras
