Simon opened his locker to gather his things after hearing the sound of the dismissal bell. He was taken by surprise when a small note fluttered out of it. Simon quickly caught the folded piece of paper and looked around to make sure no one was watching. Once the coast was clear, Simon nervously unfolded the note.

'Hey Simon
I don't really know how to do this but, I like you...
wanna go out with me?
—Ralph'

Simon smacked the paper against his chest, his heart pounding as he stared at the wall, processing the note. He looked at it once more to make sure he had read it correctly.
Simon looked around, wondering if Ralph was nearby. He couldn't couldn't see him anywhere. He closed his locker, noticing his legs were shaking. He walked out into the parking lot, trying his best to look calm as to not draw attention.

Students were getting into their cars or hanging around the parking lot as Simon began to walk his normal way home.

"Simon wait up!!"

Simon turned around quickly, seeing Ralph running to catch up with him.
Simon's heart was pounding loudly in his chest, he was certain Ralph could hear it.

"So uhm...did you get my-"
Ralph began, before noticing the note Simon was holding tightly in his hand.

"O-oh, you did!"
Ralph said, nervously chuckling.

"Uhm...you don't have to make a decision right now, you can think about it, just let me know.."
Ralph said, not looking at Simon as he pulled at the sleeves of his jacket.

"But I'll of course respect whatever decision you do make."
he added, beginning to walk away.

"Wait!"
Simon called out.

Ralph looked at him.

"Yes"
Simon said.

Ralph's eyes lit up.

"Yeah?!"
he exclaimed.

"but..."
Simon said.

"oh no"

"my brother..."
Simon continued.

Ralph rubbed the palm of his hand against an eye as he scrunched up his face, hissing through his teeth.

"I forgot about him."
Ralph grumbled.

"It's okay."
Simon said.

"We um...we can keep it a secret."
He added.

He really didn't know what he was saying, he's never gone out with anyone before. His life has changed so much the past few weeks, he guessed it was changing him too.

"If you want to keep it a secret, I'm fine with that"
Ralph said.

"Yeah I...I think I do."

"Okay.."

Simon gulped, fiddling with the note in his hands nervously.

"I've never gone out with anyone like this before though, this is all new to me"

"That's okay Simon, we can take it slow and figure it out."
He said.

"Yeah."
Simon smiled.

"Want me to walk you home?"
Ralph asked.

"I would but last time you did, Roger lectured me"

"I see...well then I guess i'll be going, see you later 'mon" Ralph said, walking backwards as he shot Simon a finger gun.

Ralph tripped on his shoelace and stumbled to keep himself upright. He turned back to Simon and gave a thumbs up, before walking away. Simon giggled, holding a hand over his mouth.

Simon looked at the note again, smiling widely.
