Phoenix Trace, also known and only known as Natasha Trace when she was 14 had dreamed of becoming a pilot since the age of five.

No one really knew why because she was one of five daughters so she couldn't have picked it up from any boys. But Nat knew why.

It was her dad. Her dad, Neil "Fireball" Trace was a former Marine fighter pilot. Nat was the only one out of all of his daughters to actually care about planes.

In the fall, she'd accompany him to some of the local air shows and races. It astounded her and Neil would never forget the look on his daughter's face when she saw a F-14 do an inverted dive. She wanted to do that someday and no one could make her think otherwise.

Now here she was, 14 and had just received her pilot's license. She was the ONLY female brave enough to go against an all boys flight school and in the summer, a flight camp. She sure beat them all when it came to flying. She was the best of the best, and she knew it.

Her sisters, Monica, a 20 year old, Julie, a 12 year old, Emily, a 10 year old, and Millie, a 5 year old, all told her that she couldn't make it into the military one day, that she should just stay home and get a day job. What did Nat do? Completely not listen to them and focus on the task at hand:

Become BETTER than the BEST.
