Rei didn't get very far down the street before she was ambushed by a group of teenagers, the leader of which was Evelyn, a 17-year-old brunette who was constantly asking for Rei to train with her.

"Is it true Rei?" Evelyn questioned, staring at Rei with anticipation in her brown eyes. "Are you really going to start a guild here in Lotus?"

Rei smiled and put her hands on her hips, "That's the plan. I'm gonna go all the way to Era to get it approved by the magic council and everything. Then, when I get back, I'll bring some strong wizards with me for the guild."

"So you're leaving?" A girl red-hair, who Rei knew used earth magic, asked.

"Yeah, but only for a month or so. And when I come back, we'll finally track down the dark wizard who's been attacking everyone and take them down." Rei said confidently.

"I don't get why you have to leave to do that," A boy Rei normally remembered as gravity boy, though she was pretty sure his name was Gyrus, replied with an annoyed look. "You could probably take on the Vampire by yourself. You don't need to start a guild to do that."

"Yeah, well, the problem is that I don't even know where Vampire is and I don't know what type of magic he uses. For all I know, they could be a dragon slayer too. Or use some other strong magic and could beat me." Rei explained. "And if I'm taken down and other dark wizards hear about it, that could be really bad for a village. But if we have a guild, it'll discourage dark wizards on its own and when we take down the Vampire, any other dark wizards will probably back off."

"So you're really gonna leave to start a guild?" Evelyn questioned, earning a nod from Rei. "Then I'm going with you!"

"What? No way." Rei replied. "I don't want to babysit you."

"Babysit! You're barely older than me!" Evelyn exclaimed, earning an eye roll from Rei. "Come on, you know I'm strong. You can't go alone."

"If you're strong, then you should stay here," Sky said, narrowing her violet eyes at Evelyn, who puffed out her cheeks at the flying cat.

"Exactly!" Rei agreed. "And I won't be alone because Sky's coming with me."

Sky hesitated, then let out a sigh, "On second thought, it'll probably be good to have another person with us. Though, I'd prefer someone more responsible."

"I am responsible!" Evelyn retorted, only earning a shrug from Sky. Evelyn huffed, looking at Rei, "Come on, you have to let me come with you. It'll look better if people know that two of the first members of the new guild are gonna be strong."

Rei shrugged, "I don't know. You'd have to ask your parents. But I'll think about it."

"Really?" Evelyn questioned, hope shining in her eyes.

"Yeah, I guess," Rei said with a long sigh. "But either way, I've gotta go now. I'll see you guys later."

There was a course of 'bye's as Rei walked away and made her way to the town hall. It was the biggest building in the town that sat in the center of the large plaza that was in the middle of town. Rei had rarely gone inside the building, but whenever she did, she was surprised at how the building looked so small on the inside. She knew it was only because the first room you walk into when entering the building was relatively small and was only for holding the desk that Athena, the mayor's assistant, sat at.

"Oh, hello Rei, it's nice to see you," Athena greeted with a smile.

"Hey, Athena," Rei said, walking up to the desk she was sitting at. "I was hoping I could talk to Mayor Walters."

"About the guild you want to start?" Athena asked with a knowing smile. Rei opened her mouth to ask how she knew, but Athena answered her before she even asked the question, "Everyone's talking about it. Sharon was one of the first people you told about this idea, so you shouldn't be shocked that everyone knows already."

"Oh it's certainly not a shock," Sky said, crossing her arms as she hovered in the air next to Rei.

"Anyways, Mayor Walter's been expecting you to come in to talk to him ever since he heard the rumor. So you can head on back there." Athena said, earning a nod from Rei.

"Ok, thanks, Athena," Rei replied before she waved to Athena and went through the door that was beside her desk. This door lead into an open hallway that had one door on the right, which was to a large open room that was used for big events and town meetings. And on the other side of the hallway were a few different doors that all lead to offices.

Rei knocked on the third door down the hall and heard a "come in" from inside the room. She opened her door to reveal Mayor Walters sitting at his desk, straightening a stack of papers.

Mayor Walters was an old man who had been the mayor of the town for as long as nearly anyone could remember. His hair was a testament to his age as it was thin and white. His face also had wrinkles that just made it clear that he was ancient. Yet at the same time, he held a strange youth to him that just gave Walters a certain charm. Whenever Rei talked to him, it was clear to hee why he had been major for so long.

"Hello, Rei, it's good to see you. And you too Sky." Walters greeted with a smile.

"It's good to see you too," Rei replied, moving one of the chairs that was against the wall so that she was sitting closer to the desk before sitting down. Sky returned his smile before hovering in the air as Rei spoke,"Athena told me you've been waiting for me."

"Ah, yes, well, you know how fast rumors spread in our small town. And something as big as our very own storm dragon starting a guild is going to spread faster than anything else." Walters said, earning a shrug from Rei. Then Walters's laid-back expression turned serious. "Listen Rei, I want you to do this just as much as everyone else. And I am more than willing to support this decision by doing what I can to prepare for the new guild while you're gone. But my main concern is that Lotus will be significantly weaker with you gone. And I'm also concerned you don't entirely know what you're doing."

"I never know exactly what I'm doing, but it's always worked out well. Why should this be different?" Rei questioned. Walters gave her a skeptical look and she continued, "And, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm not really much help. I've never even fought one of the dark wizards. And even I know that it would be stupid for me to go after them on my own."

"And a guild would help with future problems that both Lotus and neighboring towns encounter," Sky added, earning a slightly surprised look from Rei. "What?"

"Its just weird that you're defending me," Rei replied.

Sky let out an annoyed sigh, "Well, I like the idea of Lotus getting a guild too, you know."

"Yes, as do I," Walters agreed. "I never said I don't want you to do it. I hope you do. But I just want to make sure you have this thought out so you are able to go through with it."

"How hard could starting a guild be?"

-Author Note-

Is it bad that as I was in the middle of writing this chapter, I wrote the first chapter of this book's sequel? I don't know, but that should tell you how much of this story I have planned because it's two books worth. I actually am really excited to write the sequel and I haven't even gotten that far on this story, so I think that'll motivate me.

I probably shouldn't've spoiled the fact that there's probably gonna be a sequel to this story so soon, but oh well. That's how I roll and I make the rules here, so no one can tell me that I did something wrong. Actually, that's not entirely true, but whatever. I'm very tired at the time of writing this so my brain isn't working completely. Though, I don't think it's ever working completely when I'm writing, which is probably why I'm able to come up with story ideas in the first place.

Anyways, I hope you have a great day!
