Gamora had Mantis pinned against the wall, baring her teeth at the terrified empath. Aster and Nebula were watching with matching grimaces as their sister turned aggressive over the question of Peter's safety.
Drax took a panicked step forward. "Gamora, let her go!"
Ignoring Drax, Gamora squeezed Mantis' throat between her green fingers. "The bodies in the caverns... Who are they?"
Mantis gripped Gamora's wrists with both of her hands in an attempt to pry her off. Her antennae lit up and through gasping breaths, she uttered, "You are scared."
