THERE WAS A point in the fight where Aster came to the realization that not everyone would make it to the Quinjet. It was virtually impossible. At least a few of them would have to stay behind and fend off the others to ensure that the jet would even be able to make it out of the airport.

Aster knew she wasn't going to Siberia with Steve and Bucky. Instead, she would stay and make sure they would be able to get there, even if it meant she would leave in cuffs.

She pushed down the grim memory of what had happened to her the last time she was arrested by the government.

With her back pressed against the side of a plane, Aster blew a tired breath from her lips. Her hands ached with the exertion she had put on them and her side burned from the hit it took earlier. Steve and Bucky were huddled next to her, their chest heaving up and down as they tried to formulate a plan.
