Zoey stares blankly out the window of the pack house's living room. They had brought all three injured wolves to the pack house because there was more room for them there than at the clinic, which could only hold one person in a room. The wolf that Cole had finished was gone, but Liam, Nate, and Drew were still alive. If they hadn't gotten there when they had, then they'd probably be dead too.

"I'm glad you guys are alright after all of that." Damon sincerely looked at the damaged werewolves in front of him, spread out makeshift across the living room furniture. All of the people who usually helped Damon were in the room with them, Oliver, Casey, Ian, Lily, and a few others.

Liam nodded in agreement, "I am too. I knew Cole was strong, but I didn't remember him being that strong, and not to mention, he caught us by surprise. He just showed up out of nowhere."

Zoey cringes a bit at the mention of Cole. Seeing him again had just fucked her up. She had so many questions and so few answers. All she could think about was Cole and their memories together, even the ones from their rocky start. It had just ripped off any of the scabs on the wounds beginning to heal from losing him.

"Can you explain to me everything that happened?" Damon was trying to be as patient with them as possible since they had almost died, but he had to get to the bottom of whatever it was that just happened.

Liam nods, "Yeah. It started during a shift change. Nate was coming to relieve one of us off duty, and then all of a sudden, everything went south. He attacked Nate first and almost killed him, but then the rest of us stepped in, and well, you saw the result. We didn't hear him or anything."

"Cole's always been swift, and he may not have been an alpha, but he wasn't someone weak. There was a reason he was my right-hand man." Damon states plainly and then focuses his attention on Nate, who was looking elsewhere until he noticed his alpha's gaze, "Nate, it seemed like he was here for you. Do you know why?"

Nate looked away from all the eyes in the room, "No alpha. I don't."

Damon raises his brow at Nate suspiciously. The way he was fidgeting didn't sit well with him, and Liam had confirmed what Damon had seen earlier. Cole had looked at Nate's wolf when Damon asked what he was doing here. He was here for him, but why?

"Alright. Well, be sure to get some rest, guys, and Nate, if you could think of anything, be sure to let us know."

"You were the guy that poisoned the school. Weren't you?" The small voice escaped from Zoey and echoed through the room, coming out crystal clear in the quietness. She hadn't turned around to face them yet, and it was the first thing she had said since they had run into Cole, but it had everyone whipping their head in her direction.

Damon cautiously asks what everyone was thinking, "Zoey, that's a big accusation. How did you come up with that conclusion?"

She looks at a dragonfly land on a piece of grass outside, still in her daze as she explained, "I didn't put it together until now because I hadn't heard him speak in a while, but you were the man I heard talking over the phone about tearing Damon away from the pack when Henry attacked me. I remember it crystal clear. You were working with Gordon, and Gordon was working with my father, and Cole is brainwashed by them somehow, so it would only make sense that he came to kill you after you were no longer needed, so you didn't blab your mouth about anything, right?" She finally turns to face him, giving him a blank deadpan stare. It was hard to comprehend her emotions right now, "Am I wrong, Nate?"

He laughs nervously, "That's quite a story you have there. Why would I hurt my pack?"

Zoey looks at Casey and then back at Nate, "Jealousy. In the first celebration of the full moon festival, you got into a fight with another werewolf that Damon had to break up. I didn't know what it was about then, but it was about Casey, wasn't it? Then when Gordon was here, I noticed you and Casey fought in the diner that night. Since I haven't seen you two talk since then, I assume she broke up with you. Casey only has eyes for Damon, and she was using you, but she broke it off with you probably because you started causing problems, but you love her, right? You love her, and you were pissed that she was still hung up on Damon even though he doesn't give her the time of day. Right? Am I wrong?"
