Warzone

After a lot of panicking, shouting, falling and bumping they finally made it to the main road, Nancy sat beside Steve, Eddie and Dustin sat together, Max had Lucas's company at the back and Anna took her place next to Robin

They were sat in silence, Anna was trying to figure out what to say, playing with her rings on her fingers

"Here" Eddie came from behind with a walkman and a headset "I just found this at the back"

"Thanks" she said as he handed him a tape

"I don't know what you like, so I brought this when we left my trailer" she took the tape and placed it inside the device"It's master of puppets by Metallica"

"Are you kidding me? It's my favourite!" She exclaimed playing it as Eddie smiled at went back to his seat

"You remember that one time" Anna started as she paused the music, making Robin look at her "We were at this big building, you were running up the stairs, we were trying to find each other, then as soon as you were about to set your next step you saw me and you fell on your back" Anna chuckled remembering it

"Oh god, that was so humiliating" Robin said before laughing softly again

"God I missed this" Anna said when the laughter died "I missed your laugh, I missed being silly with you, I miss our little arguments" She took a deep breath opening her mouth again

"I missed you" Robin cutted her off "I missed you too Anna" she looked out of the window "Why did you do it?"

"I don't know I-"

"Don't say you might've lost your mind, you always use that as an excuse, give me a real answer, why did you do it Anna?" Robin spoke

"Because I was tired" Anna said "Of everything, my job, the new city, it was too overwhelming, I was tired"

"Of me too?" Robin asked in a low soft voice

"No no of course not, I was tired of tying you into this tiring loop, whenever we called, we either argued, or just called to say we were alive" Anna took a deep breath "I thought you deserve someone better, someone who will be with you, not a mess like me"

"Someone better? Anna you were the someone best for me, whatever it was, I would've chose you over anything, yes you were a mess but you were my mess" Robin said making Anna look at her

"I am so sorry, I am sorry Robin, I uh I didn't think about you or what you felt, I just thought it'd be better and I broke up, I am so sorry" Anna apologised looking down at her feet

"It's okay, I forgive you since I love you" Robin said as Anna looked up at her again

"You love me?" she asked

"I thought that was obvious?" Robin said as Anna chuckled

Anna moved her hand from her thighs, as she moved her pinky finger to Robin's, who did the same, as they sat in comfortable silence

After some time the van came to stop, Nancy, Robin, Max, Steve and Erica going inside the place while Eddie, Anna, Dustin and Lucas stayed inside the van, Eddie took a place next to Anna

"So uh you and that Buckley girl huh?" he asked making her turn and pause her music

"What? I don't- I don't understand?" Anna panicked

"I heard it, your conversation, I didn't mean to, but I think that was really dumb" he said as she furrowed her eyebrows "She told you she loves you and you? You didn't say it back" He paused "Or you don't really love her?"

"No, I do, I do love her" Anna said almost instantly

"Then go and tell her, me and these two shitheads will be fine here" he smiled at her

"Love you man" she said before walking out

"Save it for her!" He laughed

Anna walked inside and saw Robin with Steve, filling up their carts, she slowly crept behind her signalling Steve to keep quiet

"Hey" she said that made Robin jump

"Hi" she said while chuckling "You were supposed to be with Eddie" she tells her

"Yeah, no shit" She paused "But I forgot something" she smiles "I forgot to tell you, that, I love you" she says in a low voice making Robin blush

"What?" she laughed as Anna's eyes fell on someone and her face tensed "What's wrong?" Robin asked as she stopped laughing

"Jason, that prick" she looked at Robin "We need to get out of here" she grabbed Robin's hand "Like right now" and she started walking away, leaving Steve to bring the cart

She signalled Nancy as soon as Jason left her, and getting Max and Erica they rushed out, and got inside the van

"What happened?" Lucas asked as soon as they entered

"We gotta go" Steve said taking the driver's seat

"Your old friends are here" Erica said as she handed him a bag, Steve started driving

"Okay stay down" She said and grabbed Eddie's head to push him down as they passed Jason and his friends

Steve drove till they reached an empty field, full off grass, as far as eyesight can reach, they all got off, doing their thing, Nancy and Max, prepared Nancy's shotgun, Eddie and Dustin worked on  sheild to protect them from the bats, Lucas and Erica prepared spears, while Steve, Robin and Anna, put kerosene in glass bottles

"I mean, it just doesn't make sense" Steve said

"What doesn't?" Robin asked while she poured the kerosene

"Brenda, I can't believe she didn't call me after the basketball match, I mean, I am pretty sure she was impressed by me" Steve worded his thoughts

"Did you two even exchange numbers?" Anna asked

"Wait" Steve paused "Shit, no, we didn't" Anna chuckled at the response

"Birdbrain behaviour" Anna sighed "And we have bigger problems than your love life right now Steve"

"Yeah right"

"Not everything has a happy ending" Robin mentioned

"Yeah, yeah believe me I know" Steve said looking at Nancy

"I am not talking about failed romance, I just" Robin paused "I just have this, terrible, gnawing feeling that it might not work out for us this time" She said making Anna look at her

"You think we shouldn't be doing this?" Steve asked the question on Anna's mind

"I think we're mad fools... a lot of us" Robin said

"But if we don't stop him, who will?" Anna spoke shrugging  "We atleast gotta try"
