Riki's POV:

After Minji leaves the house, I wait a few minutes before coming out of the bedroom just in case they come back in here for whatever reason.

After about ten minutes of silence, I finally open the door and go downstairs. I look in the fridge like Minji told me to and I see a bowl covered in clear plastic with some fruit in it. I look through the cabinets for a bowl and when I find one, I make myself a small bowl of the fruit.

I eat all of it except for the peaches. I used to love peaches when I was young, but as I grew up, there was a factor in my life that made me despise them. Even just looking at a peach can make me sick.

I find some books to entertain myself with until lunchtime. I don't want to mess with anything that Minji may need, so I just eat some more fruit for my lunch. After that, I go back to reading the book that I got really interested in.

I hear a car pull up outside and a light shine through the window next to the door, so I close the book and run upstairs to the bedroom, closing the door softly.

"Thank you for bringing me home, Jake. You should probably get home soon also. It's late," Minji says.

"Okay, I guess so. Good night, Minji," he says and the door closes.

"Riki?" She calls a few seconds later. I come out of the room and she smiles when she sees me.

"I thought maybe you would've left already..." she says.

"No, I need to stay put for a few days. Get everything to die down..." I say and she agrees.

"Come here. I'll make something for us to eat for dinner,"she says. I follow her into he kitchen like last night and watch as she fills up a pot with water and turns the stove on. "Do you like macaroni and cheese?"

"Uh... I don't know what that is..." I say awkwardly. She looks really surprised for a moment, but then tells me exactly what it is.

"It's just a fancy way of saying noodles with cheese," she giggles.

"Oh... okay," I say.

"Were you okay being home alone today?" She asks me, knowing that I've been home for about 10 hours by myself.

"Yeah, it was fine. I read books for a lot of the time. And I ate the fruit for breakfast and lunch," I say.

"Okay, that's good. But you know you can use the TV, right?" She points back to the TV in The living room behind her.

"I didn't want to mess anything up so I just stuck to the things I'm used to using. Like... books," I explain.

"Tomorrow, you can go ahead and watch something if you want. There's a lot of movies and shows that you can take a look at," she says. "Don't be afraid to use the things I have. You're staying here for the time being, so it's your house too." I've never felt as welcomed as this. It feels amazing.

"Thank you so much, Minji..." I say.

"Of course," she says. Then she gets up and adds some things to the pot of water. She stirs it and let's it cook for a little longer before it's ready and she serves it to us in bowls.

I try it and it reminds me of my mom. She used to make lots of dishes with cheese since my dad worked at a cheese factory. It reminds me of the good days, before everything turned bad.

I don't finish eating my bowl and Minji looks at me confused.

"What's wrong? Do you not like it?" She asks and puts her spoon down.

"No, that's not it. I just... got full," I say. "Thank you for dinner, Minji. I'm going to go to bed now."

"Riki, I can make you something else if-"

"No, I'm fine. Thank you..."

"You're welcome..." she says and I go upstairs.

I close the bedroom door behind me and lay down on the bed.

Memories flood my mind and I try to shake them away. I don't want to remember any of that. It's too painful...

I don't know exactly when I fell asleep, I just drifted off without realizing.

(A/N : Its a bit of a shorter chapter than normal, but I'm trying to build the suspense up for later... tell me if it's working for you. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I am currently working on You're All I Need since lots of people have been asking for that one too :) Remember to vote if you enjoyed and have an amazing day/night! <3)
