"Anne, wait I'm sor-" gilbert began
"Don't. Leave her she'll come around" Cole interrupted
"I suppose your correct"
"We were just becoming friends and I blew it why did I call her carrots"
"I think it's quite a cute nickname" Diana consoled anne
"NO Diana it's not it's an insult and Gilbert blythe is ridiculous"
"But there is certainly no denying you like a boy you've been acting quite diffrently"
"DIANA BARRY THAT IS NOT TRUE I DO NOT HAVE A CRUSH ON GILBERT BLYTHE"
"Oh my dearest anne I never said you liked gilbert I just said you might have your eye on someone" Diana smirked
Anne went silent
"Oh look how dark it is we shall be getting to bed now goodnight diana" Anne rushed diana out of her room and got in bed she tried to brush off what diana said and went to sleep
Gilbert arose with the sun and heard a knock at his door.
"Come in?" He said a bit puzzled
Anne then walked in
"Anne"
"Gilbert" they said at the same time
"Anne I'm so sorry about yesterday I was just joking I know you don't have a crush on me as you're an independent woman" he felt proud of himself hoping to cheer her up
Anne smiled at him and hugged him
"You're such a good friend Gilbert"
His smile dropped. Along with his heart.
"Well I best be going to get ready for the day I long to see what this wonderful winter day holds"
Gilbert stood frozen as she left happy and skipping why was he so hurt when Anne called him a friend? They are just friends.
He then had a flashback to when Anne said she'd make a terrible wife. "She's so hard on herself" gilvert thought outloud
" she'd make an excellent wife I'd love to marry her she's so beautiful as is her mind and her passions are so-"
"I'm sorry to inturpt but aunt Jo says it's time for breakfast" Cole smirks as gilbert realized he was talking outloud. Cole and Gilbert both left the room and headed to the stairs
"I agree she'd make an amazing mrs blythe" Cole smirked as he watched Gilbert blush madly
"No, Cole it's not like that with an she's just a friend"
"Suree" they laughed it off and went to eat.
Anne was 15 and he was 17 they're too young to get married right now ofcouse they're not to young to be courting wait what why was he thinking about courting anne ew no gross.
