Love is unexpected

CHAPTER SIX: BEGINNING OF THE REGRETTABLE TIMES

Lucas smirked and said, "As a start, you can clean my room." Olivia scoffed, "I agreed on being your assistant, not your maid!" and left quickly before Lucas could have made another demand.

She sighed as she went into her room, "It's going to be a long day, that's for sure!" Nessa asked, "I heard what happened yesterday and I wanted to talk but I fell asleep, what was your decision?" Olivia looked at her in thought, "Have I done the right thing?" Nessa said, "Are you really still thinking about it? If I would be in your place, I would have already denied."

Olivia gulped and said, "I agreed."

"You what!?!... Olivia, you do realize they're gonna torture you. You still have time to say no."

"I have already made my decision, I'm not going to back out of it!"

"But why? You chose to suffer over freedom?"

"I can't let other students get bullied, It's wrong! I know how it feels. I don't want anyone to go through the same that I did. Even that guy who was getting bullied yesterday."

"Noah?"

"Yes, he told me how miserable they made his life. It's better if one person suffers than a whole group of people and besides, I've already suffered enough. If Jenny were here, she'd do the same.

"Who's Jenny?"

"My sister...long story. I gotta get going. I'll talk to you later. Bye." Olivia ran off to the bathroom before Vanessa could ask any more questions. She wore a baggy shirt with jeans, did a ponytail, and quickly went towards the elevator and texted Alyssa not to wait for her. It was 7:00 am but school started at 8 am.

She went straight to the library, the room was quiet as a mouse. She opened her book and started reading. Olivia loved to read! especially mysteries and romance books, it just made her forget all her problems and lead her to another whole world. It was fascinating for her how words could change a whole perspective.

After an hour, the bell rang and it was time for class. She took her book, grabbed her bag and left the library, she was checking the time on her watch when suddenly, she bumped into someone. Her book fell down, she quickly went down to pick it up without seeing who it was. The voice said, "Oh, I'm sorry." She looked up to see who it was, "Melvin..?" He chuckled, "It's a small world." Olivia hesitated, "Uh...listen, I wanted to thank you for yesterday. Breathing did help me lose my anxiety." Melvin smiled, "I know how bad they can be, so don't thank me just return the favor if you ever see me in need." Olivia said, "I like that, and yes I will." He stood up and said, "Well it was nice meeting you, see you around." Melvin left before Olivia could make a response.

The first class was Maths, they had a pop quiz which was a lot harder than she expected. As she was walking to her locker to get her books, she was pulled in the way. Olivia screamed, "Aahhhh!" She felt a hand closing her mouth. Olivia had watched a lot of movies where the kidnapper would quiet his victim down and then the victim would kick him. She stomped on his foot. "Ahhh! What are you doing? Open your eyes!" Olivia slowly opened her eyes. It was Lucas, Olivia gasped, she put her hands on her face, "Oh, why did I do that? Ugh, I need to stop watching those movies." Lucas said in pain, "I can hear you and my pain is not going away." Olivia sat down and removed his foot from his shoe and started massaging it. "I'm so sorry, I just thought that you were a kidnapper and I acted quickly...I'm truly sorry." Lucas said, "Well at least you won't make me apologize, don't worry, my foot is fine. The pain was temporary but I must say, you have fast reflexes." They both laughed.

Olivia got curious and asked, "By the way, why did you pull me like that?"

Lucas said, "I have some work for you, I need you to bring my every book depending on the subject that I have."

Olivia scrunched her eyebrows, "What? Can't you bring them on your own?"

Lucas smiled, "Then what's the point of having an assistant."

Olivia clenched her hands but she then remembered that she was the one who agreed in the first place, "Fine, give me your timetable and I'll bring them."

"Ah, I don't have it on paper, it's a pdf I have on my phone."

"I'm guessing this must be your tactic to get my number, nice try. Give me your phone." Olivia sent the pdf through email.

"Smart, well I tried. Anyway, bring my English book quickly. We're late for class and oh, my locker code is 5432."

"Got it, be right back!"

She opened his locker and was surprised by how neat it was. Everything was organized well! Olivia quickly grabbed the book and gave it to Lucas. She stood by the classroom door and thought about whether to go in or not. "Ahem, you should come in, or else you will be outside until the bell rings. Olivia's cheeks turned red from embarrassment and she quickly came in and sat beside Alyssa and took out her book. Alyssa said, "Where have you been?" Olivia hesitated and said, "I'll tell you all about later okay?" The teacher, Ms. Lily said, "No interruptions please!" and continued her class until the bell rang after a short while. Olivia decided to remain in class to finish all the work that she missed.

Alyssa came with her lunch and sat beside her. "So, you mind telling me why you came late and why you didn't meet me in the morning?" Olivia wrote her last word and spoke, "Lucas wanted me to bring his books to him in every subject, and in the morning, I went early to school." Alyssa was shocked, "He wanted what? Why can't he do it on his own?" Before she could reply, Noah came and stood beside the door, "Olivia...the famous four want to meet you."

"Well, is it urgent?"

"I don't know, at least I don't think so."

"Tell them I'll be there after ten minutes."

"But, they never like to wait..."

"Now they will learn to, I can't be there immediately whenever they need me. I have to work to do as well. Tell them I'll be there by 12:40 pm, okay?" Noah left nervously.

Alyssa said, "Are you sure that you want to make them wait?" Olivia sighed, "I'll finish my work and then go, this assignment is due today and I don't wanna miss it." Alyssa murmured, "Well if you say so..."

After ten minutes, Olivia submitted her work and quickly went to the cafeteria to the famous four's table. Lucas' face looked stern, "Why are you late?" Olivia confidently said, "I was finishing my work." Lucas scoffed, "So your schoolwork is more important than being my assistant?"

Olivia had a disgusted shocked face and thought, "Is he for real? Obviously, my schoolwork is more important than being his assistant, what answer does he even want me to say?"

"Nevermind, next time I don't expect you to be late. So keep that in your mind. Now, go bring me lunch. Chris, give her some money. Olivia, buy me sandwiches and a juice."

Olivia rolled her eyes, "Look, first of all, let me get this straight. I have my priorities which are far more important than being your assistant and you know them as well, and as for your order, I'm only doing it because of the deal so don't get so ahead of yourself!"

She took the money from Chris' hands and left Lucas speechless. The rest of the boys tried to stop themselves from laughing. Lucas got humiliated for the first time and, by a girl. Olivia took the food to his table and asked, "Anything else? Dance class is about to start soon."

Lucas replied, "I'll tell you when I need anything."

Olivia smiled, "Good." After a long day, it was finally nighttime. Olivia made some hot water in her room and went outside for some air. Nessa was asleep already. Olivia thought, "She is an early sleeper." She went outside and noticed that she could see the whole school's front yard during the day but it was pitch black and all she could see was the bright moon covered by clouds and the millions of stars shining, "Oh Jenny, I know you're one of the stars and I hope you can hear me. I miss you so much and I hope you're proud of me." Soon, her water finished and she went to sleep...little did she know, Jenny wasn't the only one who heard it...
