"Are you sure you got everything you could need?" I asked Jasper for the hundredth time.
"I have everything Eve, I promise." He said strapping the last knife to his vest.
I could barely sleep the day before because of the mission. I was too scared I missed something that could put them in danger or simply underestimated my father. He was the master of unpredictability so what if I skipped the detail that changed everything.
"Your plan is solid mia cara, don't hunt yourself anymore." Vincent said reading my mind and comforted me with his touch. (My dear)
"Mia cara? That's new but if you are trying to make me fall for that old Italian trick I can guarantee you it won't work." I did work, I just wouldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing.
"Whatever you say amore." He smirked, whispering to my ear. (My love)
He wasn't playing fair, that words will break anyone if it's him who says them and he knew it, what a cocky bastard.
"Stop with the Italian master class and go help your friends." I pushed him away from me and walked up to Jay who was studying the map once again.
"I see I'm not the only one overthinking it." I muttered.
"Just making sure I know the building inch by inch." He pointed to the map. "If something happens and we have to leave we have a lot of exits, looks pretty safe."
"But nothing will happen." Jasper guaranteed from behind.
"Take this, leave the communications open at all times so we can listen in." Vince handed both some walkies and looked back at me.
"Thank you." I smiled.
He knew that being in the dark would make me too anxious, that's why he came up with the idea of us being able to listen.
"The cars are outside." Jay informed taking his bag.
"Be careful." I hugged Jasper and patted Jay's back.
Vincent hugged them both and stepped back to take my hand.
"We will be back with the stuff tomorrow." Jasper smiled my way before leaving to the car.
I stayed put in front of the door, watching them go. Vincent didn't let go of my hand until the cars disappeared from our sight.
"It's a easy mission Eve, they will be back in perfect condition." He hugged me against his torso and I let myself rest against him for a while. "Don't worry, okay amore?" He whispered against my neck and I nodded softly, fighting my shiver.
"I'm never going to get rid of the nicknames now." I whispered still in his embrace.
"If I knew they will have this effect on you I would have said them sooner." He replied cockily. "Come on, let's distract ourselves with something."
