rowan woke up earlier than he expected but still decided to get on the road early. he made sure the car was completely packed up before waking juliana, giving her as much time to rest as possible.

"hey." he said softly while shaking the girl awake. she stirred but fell back into a comfortable position.

"baby." he cooed again, smooching her cheeks. her eyes slowly fluttered open to meet his and when they did she smiled.

"good morning princess." he smiled back at her, scooping her up from the bed.

"we're leaving already?" she asked drowsily. he sat her in her seat of the car, placing a blanket over her body.

"yeah, did you want anything from inside?" she got comfortable in her seat, reclining the back and snuggling into her blanket.

"just my planner and computer.. and my crocs please." he pressed a kiss to her lips and went back into the house to retrieve the things she asked for, along with their insulated cups they got a few days ago for while they're on the road. he placed the things on the floor in front of her and climbed into the drivers seat.
~~~
he stopped at juliana's house to drop off the spare key before starting on the road. they had been on the road of around three hours, only an hour and a half left until they got to the hotel. he'd stopped to get them some breakfast from chick-fil-a. juliana had just woken up fully about an hour ago, quietly listening to the music he played and continued writing in her planner. by this point the trip was planned out for three months.
"how long are we gonna be gone?" she asked, not wanting to over plan.
"as long as things will let us." he cooed, resting his hand on her thigh.
"you don't have to keep planning." he laughed softly, rubbing his thumb against the soft material of her sweatpants.
"but i want us to have things to do." she looked over at him and unconsciously smiled.
"i know, but we can find things as we go." he briefly turned to look at her. she sighed and closed her laptop and planner, sitting it back on the floor. her fingers slipped into his before she turned to watch the trees fly by.
~~~
when they arrived at the hotel she got a cart from the hotel while he pulled their suitcases from the truck. although he said they wouldn't need a cart for three suitcase she still got one. after he loaded on the bags she sat in front of them, holding her planner and laptop tightly in her lap.

"did you get this just so i can push you." he asked as they walked into the elevator.

"maybe." she giggled, looking up at him with a smile. he couldn't help but fall in love with her smile every time he sees it. they found their room and he unloaded the cart, picking juliana up off of it and sitting her on the bed instead before pushing the cart to the cart return.

"the bed is comfy." juliana giggled as rowan walked back into the room.

"is it?" he smiled, walking to sit with her.

"should we order some room service?" he massaged her thighs softly, pressing their foreheads together.

"do they have chicken tenders?" she stood and walked over to the phone, seeing a menu besides it.

"we could ask." he followed behind her, looking over her shoulder at the menu.

"the chicken wrap sounds good." he cooed, placing his finger besides it. she smiled and turned to look at him, kissing his cheek. they ordered a few different things to try before unloading some of their things from the suitcases.

"baby you've got to try this." juliana said to rowan, pushing a piece of the chicken to his lips.

"every chicken tender tastes the same." he laughed softly before letting his lips fall open. she scoffed and turned back to her plate.

"they do not." juliana retorted.

"here, try it." he said while pushing his wrap towards her. juliana was a pretty picky eater so at any chance he got he was getting her to try something new.

"i don't want to." she grumbled, turing her head away.

"why not? it's just chicken, lettuce tomato and a sauce."

"tomatos, i don't like them." he nodded.

"i know, but this bite doesn't have any.. look." he tilted the wrap towards her again for her to see for herself. she scanned the wrap for a few seconds before leaning forwards to take a bite.

"see." he smiled, taking one of the fries off the plate.

"it's okay." she hummed, climbing off the bed to get a drink.

"so we check out of here in four days.. then we go to?" he asked. she did most of the planning so he didn't know where they'd be going.

"new jersey... there's some food places that look really good." he smiled.

"and then?" rowan asked as juliana sat down besides him.

"do you wanna see the notebook?" she giggled. he nodded and she handed it to him, watching as he flipped through her plans. she'd planned out the next four months with different activities in different states and cities. they all looked equally exciting but what he was most excited about was the camping. he went camping a lot as a kid and he didn't see juliana as one to want to camp, but here they were.

"you want to go camping?" he asked, and she nodded.

"yeah, in kansa.. but that's a few months out, once we turn back around." he nodded, flipping to the next page.

"you have great ideas." rowan smiled, pulling juliana into his lap. she smiled and cupped his cheeks, pecking his lips.

"i know right." she smirked, reaching for her drink. the rest of the day the spent at the hotel, going down to the pool and swimming until the sky went dark. they went upstairs and took showers, rowan figuring out how to get netflix on the tv while she did her skincare.
