Love is unconditional. Love means that you accept another soul for the way it comes. You love that soul for everything that it is with every tear, every loose stitch. Love is not making exceptions, it's accepting every detail. It's desiring those details. It's needing those details. If you have opinions, expectations, judgments, toward someone you claim to "love", you do not love that person. You can only love someone when all of their imperfections are what drive you crazy for them. You will know when you have found your soulmate. When a heavily flawed broken weird unique soul crosses your path, but you see that soul and think it could not be any more perfect. That is when you've found them. That is love.
