Chapter 13

Hunting

It didn't take a long time for Wukong to roll, and dive out of the whole he had fallen into. But he found himself alone in an area he hadn't been in before. The room had scorch marks. The floor looked like something incredibly heavy broke the wall. There was even a flat tire with a hub cap. Yup that was from the TEA.

Wukong flinched as he thought about it. Actually he hated the idea of what had happened. It was his fault. If he had only just stayed away from the Lady Bone Demon none of that would have happened and MK wouldn't have been hurt worse then he already had before.

He was distracted, good...

The Huntsmen watched as Wukong walked around the room looking for any areas he could get in through.

The Huntsmen smiled and backed up into the hole had just created.

Wukong sniffed the air and covered his nose.

"Geez it stinks. All this standing water smells like the wharf." He climbed up through one of the holes created by what Mei had done with the explosion she had caused to get out of the mech.

"MK!" He called out. His eyes looked through the darkness. They turned a bright gold. He stopped as he heard a soft tapping noise from behind him. He turned to look around the darkness. He heard it again behind him.

Climbing out of the hole and walking away from the tapping noises and then stopping against a door.

He wasn't scared...not even a little bit. Wukong didn't get scared...slightly creeped out, but never scared.

He turned and threw open the door and jumped through the door...and right into the huntsmen who held up the Calabash. Wukong gasped as he was sucked into it.

"Excellent..." The huntsmen turned around. The Mayor looked down at the gourd and took it from the huntsmen. "However it'll likely not hold the great sage. Perhaps...a little aid from an old prison?" The mayor threw the Calabash into the trigram furnace. "It was so nice of those twins to...misplace this during our take over." He chuckled.

"That won't hold him." MK yelled. "He's gotten out of it before."

"Oh I'm not aiming to keep him in there. I want him to get out. As soon as he does..." The Mayor chuckled, running his finger along MK's neck. "I will use your souls to bind my lady. Then there will be no one to stop her."

"MK?" Bai He called out from her own cold slab of stone. MK had to ark his head to see her at all. "My dad will be okay...right?"

"Well he's not very keen on becoming a hero." MK sighed. "We might have to save ourselves."

"But he is." Bai He's tiny voice echoed within the room. The accustices in this room were great. "He saved me." She wanted so much to curl into a little ball and sleep. She was sure it was well past her bad time.

"Yeah...yeah he did." MK said as he looked around at the Mayor. "Maybe he can be a warrior...and a hero."

Macaque's mouth had dropped at that. He had heard the whole conversation between Bai He and MK. Him...a hero? Maybe...just maybe he could be? Just this once? For her?
