The Chainbreaker

Circles of pale blue

How weary are those eyes?

Are you all alone?

I know that feeling all too well

Not that you would ever know.

Break the chain that binds you,

Resist the pain that blinds you.

Even when it seems like there is no point

A steady voice will reach you

Keen eyes will see you

Every heart will reach you.

Rake your hope against despair and you will find the name you've owned since the beginning.

...

I let myself sink in the pool of darkness,

it wraps around me like a dark dress.

I bring my knees to my chest and hold them tight,

like squeezing a stuffed animal close at night.

I slowly exhale causing pockets of my breath to clamber to the pool's face.

I sink and sink at a steady pace.

I felt numb and weightless,

but despite this,

I could feel the pressure of despair and guilt pushing me further under

my lungs began to burn in hunger,

but as I gasped,

only darkness filled the empty gap.

Sinking, sinking, further still,

just more change in the devil's till.

"Take my hand."

A familiar voice rang.

A sudden pang.

I reach out, blind.

A fellow heart I find.

It pulls me up from the depths at light speed.

It's finally found me, what my soul needs.

I blast through the pool's surface,

the infinite sky greets me with uncountable stars that race.

To my side stands the Chainbreaker

They hold my hand and capture my heart with eyes that never waver.

A staircase fell from the heavens and the Chainbreaker climbed.

I fallowed behind,

ascending into the void sea.
