Pearls in the Void Sea

The Stars that Bleed

I asked the Chainbreaker where our destination lay.

They turned toward me and pointed.

I saw the void sea filled with stars held at bay,

by massive chains anointed

by viscous black ink

hidden by the Void's very folds.

However, it's stink

smelled of countless deaths untold.

Then they spoke:

"Help me break the chains that bind the stars."

"Oppressed as they are,"

"Plenty will fade into the void without a chance to even scream."

"Everything now depends on you and me."

I looked at the stars again, some of which started to bleed.

Finally finding the freedom I so desperately sought,

I agreed,

without a second thought.
