....In this world at a young age you are taught to sing to play instruments till you choose a certain one you like, from it you play a melody from your heart a unique tune only from yourself but it ends up only being heard from yourself an..your soulmate(s) you will always remember your melody the one you made from your heart when you play it from the chosen instrument only they could hear it everyone else who isn't them could only hear the silence the way you find your soulmate is if the melody gets louder in your head if they didn't have the instrument in hand and suddenly when you meet them your songs play out together like they were meant to play in harmony
Most cases people rush to find their soulmate(s) some take time and let fate decide when you should meet each other
And yes you can have more then one soulmate there is groups like that or even don't have one some people never had one in the first place it's not something to worry it's normal and people like that still live just as happily as people who have a soulmate
the worst case is you no longer hear your soulmate(s) melody...an then your world goes silent..

Peters Pov
It's been years knowing this information I have yet to find them I've seen so many people happy with their soulmate with their significant other those smiles..the feelings they show to each other..I want that..I want that more then anything I want to find my person my everything
I got close I know I have, it was louder the day I moved near that town then all my years of existence..but now
...I can barely hear the melody they played though..it's getting farther and farther away..they couldn't..no I'll find them soon
it can't be they must still hear my song for them right? Come on I don't even know you but please...wait for me

I wake up the next day to drive to town picking up my usual for rat and some products for my channel, Daniel my editor has told me new popular ones, as I looked in this town more and more as it got late soon I felt hunger arise I could maybe get something to go from that diner as I put the stuff in the van  walking towards the diner 'dads dam diner' ? Strange name I must admit, I hope they have something good..just nothing spicy or sour for me
I walk in
"💟 welcome to dads dam diner how can I-...it's you.."
"🥀 huh?"
"💟 ......oh my bad no I confused you for someone else I'm sorry sir table for one?"
"🥀 Actually could I get something to go?"
"💟 sure here take your time" that was strange I wouldn't think I'd be confused for anyone..right?..she gives me a menu and had me sit at a booth as I look over what there is to eat..thankfully I got something for rat my sweet boop noodle wonder if I should get rat a friend?..I'll have to think it over
Soon she comes back but I notice she's chatting with the cook back there green hair how..convenient they seem to eye me as they did I tried not to notice but it is a little difficult to ignore how people could possibly be gossiping about you but what could they be gossiping about that has to do with me ? Never met them in my life..
"💟 have you decided what you want sir?.."
"Yeah I'll have (favorite food from a diner idk)" she hesitantly took the menu from me I'm to tired to be nice today honestly I tried giving the simple gratitude of a smile
"💟...you know funny thing my roommate would always enjoy that certain meal it was her favorite from this place..sorry I'll go get that now for ya"
She walked away but seeing from her body posture that hesitation..she seemed upset..was her roommate..gone? Maybe it was her significant other ? it's probably recent I feel bad..oddly enough

"💟 here ya go sir that'll be (random price)" I hummed giving her an extra tip
"🥀 uh keep it..your roommate..she sounds like a nice gal considering she likes this meal heh..bye now-" god I felt awkward trying to be nice..but I did feel bad..I'm not sure why..I shouldn't overthink it

At home at last I gave rat a nice treat of a mouse to feast on oh how cute rat looked with those eyes I smiled at rat letting them enjoy the meal as I went to mine from the diner it's actually pretty good and still warm they weren't kidding when it was freshly made *sigh* oddly this felt satisfying I don't know how to explain but it does something about it overall I just continue eating my meal the place isn't in need of cleaning I keep it tidy as I say goodnight to rat and off to bed I sleep...still feel empty the fact I can't find who my soulmate is..I hope they aren't avoiding me

I woke up again to this room the lights are so bright or wait they moved me again it's so tiresome-

"🍵 I know and I'm sorry but..he really did want to see you.."

"🍵 yes you can y/n..he wanted to be here he wanted to meet you so bad he dreamt of finding you..after I told him about you he literally dragged me here to find you..y/n all I want is you to be happy.."

"🍵 trust me y/n..he's your soulmate after all..he's a lucky guy..now go out there he's waiting.." i sniffle a little the waterworks we're going to burst I only sighed to take a deep breathe thanking tk as they helped me up opening the door the music was loud but I didn't mind the music..it was rather lovely what he made..I only hoped he liked what I made..I walk over to see a man playing the piano of course I was the only one able to hear it..it's beautiful I walk up behind him humming my tune to his song and decided to sit next to him resting my head on his shoulder..

"Mhm,the one and only..Tk told you everything didn't they?.."
"🥀 yes and I'm glad to finally meet you..actually I'm more the happy to finally see my darling..you have no idea how long I yearned for this..ever since I heard your tune.."

"Mm well this isn't the greatest way to meet..but it is rather sweet of you to come for me like this.." he stopped playing his tune it almost faded away as I felt him wrap an arm around me pulling me close
"🥀 I didn't care for the way we would meet I care that we would meet at the very least..I didn't want you running away from me..I was scared I'd never see you.." well this made my heart flutter he was so unexpectedly sweet I nuzzled into his shoulder he reeked of cigarettes and cologne..it wasn't really a bad smell..kinda comforting in a way I felt him pull me in a tight hug

"Oh please don't tell me your a tease hehe"
"🥀 I don't know I guess you'll have to find out darling~" i slowly open my eyes to meet his..they are a beautiful hue of deep blue of the starry night... and just like that our tunes become a song..
