Hi Amanda! I absolutely love your books and so therefore, rather than having just one question for you, I have two questions that I really want to ask you, so here are my questions:

1. Do you feel like the books that you read have an effect on your style of writing?

2. Do you have any pre-writing rituals? Like a cup of tea and some comfy pants? I know I do! (I'm an aspiring writer)

Thank you for your time!

Emily

1. Definitely. The best way to learn how to write is by reading a lot. You pick up on what you like, and what you don't like, and you absorb the way sentences are structured and how things flow. And I always that everything around me inspires my books, and it's true – from music, to the weather, to the books I read.

2. Before I write, I outline obsessively and take tons of notes. So when I sit down to write, my office has to be all set up and organized, with my printed off notes to the left of my laptop, and my notebook on to the right. I put my pre-determined book playlist on, open up a new can of Red Bull Zero, and I turn off the internet. Then, and only then, do I begin to actually write.
