Around two weeks passed by.

Alexia kept visiting therapy. Spain got out of the tournament. Erin was visiting the Barcelona captain every day and the more time they spend with each other, the closer they got.

Even though they weren't official it seemed to be like that for the both of them.

"You're aware that you're improving extremely well, Alexia. Right?", Erin smiles happily, running her fingers over the back of Alexia's knee as the athlete lays on her stomach onto the therapy bench.

"I hope so. The therapy is going very good and I really feel like I'm gaining back my trust in the knee day by day. I hope I'll be able to go without those crutches soon", Alexia murmurs, her head resting onto her arms as she breathes in deeply, feeling exactly those tense points were Erin was working on.

"Actually... I have a surprise for you, babe", the blonde breathes, feeling somehow nervous herself as she sees the brown haired woman head turn.

"What?", Alexia asks, her face somehow pale when the therapist reaches for her, helping the captain to sit onto the edge of the therapy bench when the athlete had question marks all over her face.

"It's time to reward yourself, Alexia", Erin grins.

She had it planned out for days.

She knew that at the end of the week she would want Alexia to take her first steps without crutches. Without anything to hold onto.

Erin knew that Alexia didn't think it would be this fast but the blonde was so impressed by how fast her love interest improved, that she wanted her to try.

With a small smirk on her face, Erin runs her cold fingertips along the tanned woman's skin, her eyes looking into Alexia's hazel ones with a proud expression, before she takes a few steps back.

"Come here, Alexia", Erin suggests, spreading out her arms into the athletes direction who sits on the edge of the therapy bench with an surprised expression.

"Do you mean in...?", Alexia doubts, staring onto the floor as she thinks about how many steps she would need to go until reaching the blonde.

"Walking? Yes", Erin chuckles, amazed to see how happy the athlete looked at this.

"Really?", Alexia breathes happily, still not believing that things were improving this well as she slightly shifts forward, carefully putting her feet to the ground before glancing up at the blonde.

"Really. I've been planning it all week. You're ready, babe", Erin smiles, her arms still stretched out for Alexia to take as soon as the brown haired woman would be close enough.

"Okay...", Alexia breathes nervously, again checking the way before getting onto her feet, taking the first step carefully with her right foot before looking up at Erin.

"I'm not sure if I can do it", Alexia doubts, stuttering, her palms getting sweaty as she puts her left foot to the front, nervously stepping forward in a tiny step.

"You can do it, Alexia. I know it", Erin smiles with an relaxed voice, giving the Spanish captain the time she needed to collect her confidence.

Alexia pauses for a second.

After a few moments, she carefully puts the weight on her left foot, stepping forward before putting the right one in front again.

"I did it", she breathes relieved, immediately taking another when Erin smiles proudly. She couldn't describe how much she loved seeing Alexia like that.

Injured athletes doing there first steps after surgery was something she loved. Those moments were extremely emotional and in particular this time Erin couldn't help but get emotional herself.
