Long ago in a kingdom called Cross Fire lived a spoiled prince named Jeremy Chambers. He got everything he ever wanted thanks to his parents (the king and queen).

One day the king and queen saw how mean he was to the village people. They got tired of it; so, they sent him to live by himself in a tiny village called Alessia.

They gave him enough money to last him for about a month. He would have to learn to get the other money on his own. He was supposed to stay in the village for six months, until his 18th birthday, but that ended up being longer than any of them thought.

In the tiny village of Alessia lived a girl about his age named Isabella Anderson. She also lives alone, but as an orphan. (Eight years ago, her parents died in a house fire accident.) Now she is known to everyone in the village as a diamond in the rough. (In other words, the poorest person in the entire village.)

One day Isabella went to the marketplace to buy as much food and supplies, as she could with the little money her parents left her before they died.

Also, with nobody noticing that he was banned from his home by his parents, Prince Jeremy went to the market place in disguise.

He was looking around when he accidentally into Isabella. All of her stuff fell out of her basket and flew all over the floor.

He was about to yell at her but didn't when he heard her starting to apologize to him, "I am so sorry about that. It's my entire fault. I wasn't looking where I was going."

When she looked up at him their eyes met. She saw a twinkle in his icy blue eyes.

Jeremy decided to keep them there for as long as he could and said, "Oh no, it was my fault. I was looking around and I didn't see where I was going."
When he finally let go of her eyesight both turned around fast and blushed.
When they looked back at each other, there was a long silence; but neither of them noticed. Jeremy was looking at her. She had scene-style shoulder-length pink hair and her eyes were light purple. She was dressed in small black ballerina slippers, a black skirt, and a black shirt with small pink stars that matched her hair. Just about all of it had a whole bunch of holes all over it.

While he was looking at her Isabella felt kind of weird but she couldn't help but look at his icy blue eyes

He was dressed in black shoes, black slacks, and a red shirt that made his eyes pop out like a sore thumb.

After that long silence, Jeremy had offered a walk around the marketplace together.

It was a bit awkward because they weren't talking. Isabella decided to say, "I am sorry." He looked at her confused.

"Why are you sorry for now?" He asked kind of sorry for her for some reason that he doesn't understand why.

"I am sorry because I didn't say my name." She looked at him blushing and held out her hand and said, "My name is Isabella Anderson."

He looked at her kind of confused. He also felt kind of special because nobody in the palace ever wanted to know his name or become his friend either.

He grabbed her hand and shook it saying, "My name is Jeremy Chambers. It's very nice to meet you, Isabella Anderson." He paused for a second then thought, 'Idiot maybe you shouldn't have used your real name now she will know you were the disgraced prince.'

But to his amazement, it was like she didn't even notice because she smiled and giggled a little bit. "It is nice to meet you too Jeremy Chambers."

They continued to walk around the marketplace for a while longer together. To Isabella, it felt kind of weird because a has been walking with her and none of them ever said a word. It was one of those awkward silences. "So..." Isabella decided to say, "...where do you live?"

Jeremy wasn't sure if he had heard her right. So, he answered her what he thought she asked, "Nowhere right now."

She looked up fast and said, "Oh, I am sorry I asked."

He turned to her; put a smirk on his face. "Oh no not like that. My parents sent me out of the cast..." He paused fast. He didn't want her to know that he got kicked out of the castle for being too village people like herself. "...house..." he said kind of fast and loud, "...to teach me how it is to live on my own for the next six months."

She looked at him confused. "Why for six months?"

He looked at her and said, "Well, my 18th birthday is in six months. They wanted to see if I have what it takes to live on my own since eventually, I will have to be on my own as an adult."

He looked down and laughed lightly. She didn't know why he did. She laughed because his laugh is cute.

They walked in silence for a little bit. Then he decided to ask her, "I hope you don't mind but, what about you? What's your life story?"

She looked down and said, "Oh, well you don't want to listen to my life. It's kind of long and..." She paused for a moment and said almost crying, "...sad."

He just looks around and says, "Well I don't have to go anywhere anytime soon. Do you?"

She laughed lightly and thought about it and she told him, "No I don't."

He just looks at her with a smile and asks, "Well, how about it then?"

She says, "Ok I tell you, but don't say I didn't warn you. It is really sad. Well, to me at least."

He just smiles and says, "Ok, I won't and I will see if your life is sad or not. It is always good to have a second opinion right."

She just looks down and says, "Right." She paused for a second and says sadly, "Well my life is kind of the same as yours with the whole living by yourself part. Except..."

"Except what?" He asked gently looking into her eyes.

"The sad part." She said with tears falling from her face straight to the ground.

When he looks back at her he sees her crying. He tries and finds her eyes. When he does, he smiles wipes her tears, and says, "Well, you can tell me all about it, ok."

She said with tears still in her eyes, "In five months it will be my parents' eighth anniversary..." she paused for a moment. Right, when he was about to say 'congratulations to them' he heard her say in a very soft voice just above a whisper, "...of their death."

He looked down real sad and said, "I am so sorry." He looked down in sadness. He asked in a sympathetic voice, "What happened? How did they die? What day did they die on?"

She looked at him and asked, "Are you sure you want to hear my sad story?"

He looks at her nodding. "Of course, I do."
