Welcome to Those Romance Awards where all awards focus on—yes, you guessed it—stories about romance. Why am I doing a romance focus? Well, my account centres largely on how Those Three Words can make and break our hearts, meaning it's a particular interest of mine. Additionally, I did my honours thesis on romance messages in classic texts, adult romance, and young adult romance, so this is a niche of mine.
Categories
Separated into the following categories, these awards are hosted and judged by yours truly, meaning the timeline for this awards will be drawn-out (more details at the end). Categories are:
1) Adult Romance. This category is for stories centred around adults and their experiences of romance, whether that be in the beginnings of their first job or after a divorce. Wherever they are in their adult life, this category is for their story. *
2) New Adult Romance. Fresh out of high school or just starting their first job, this category captures love stories for those characters aged 18-25.*
3) Young Adult Romance. This genre focusses on first love to maybe third or forth. Nonetheless, your protagonist is in high school, exploring the highs and lows of teenage heartache.
4) LGBTQIA+. This category is especially made to recognise stories of love between characters in the LGBTQIA+ category. Stories in this category must feature protagonists who identify as LGBTQIA+.
*Categories with an asterisk are welcome to have mature content so long as they abide by the Wattpad Content Guidelines and are rated appropriately. Young Adult and LGBTQIA+ are expected to be age-appropriate for readership, meaning fade-to-black level content or very subtle references to sexual content. If your characters cannot read their own story on Wattpad (because the material is restricted to 17+) then it will not fit in this category nor others.

Entry period: 15 September to 30 November
Judging Period: 1st December to 25 December
