jackie woke up by herself in her room. which yes, that is normal but allie and gina both slept over and jackie always wakes up first.
the sound of pans crashing and yelling occurring downstairs traveled to jackie's ear as she realized they were most likely making breakfast. she pulled the covers off of her body and walked to her bedroom door. as soon as she was about to open the door a knock came through from the other side.
"oh hey" she said as she opened her door
"hey" matt said standing there
"is everything okay?" jackie asked because this was not a normal occurrence
"oh yeah, well no, well kinda, gina and chris were trying to make breakfast but then they ended up burning the pancakes so then they asked me to come up here and ask if you could make it instead" matt, in one breath told jackie the story.
"of course they did. but sure, i'll be down in a second" she replied with a smile towards the boy.
"thanks, i'll go tell them you said yes" jackie gave matt a nod as he turned around and made his way down the stairs.
jackie made herself a little more presentable but also didn't care simply because she wasn't going to prom, she was going downstairs to make the children breakfast.
"oh my lord you dumb fuck it was your fault not mine" gina accusingly said to chris
"my fault?? that was all you"
"guys shut the hell up you both were fucking idiots that burned the pancakes!" nick yelled at them
"it was still him though" gina said just to get the last word
"good morning everybody." jackie said with a straight face
"well you just seem as bright as the sun" gavin made the snarky, sarcastic comment to her
"ha ha." jackie said to the boy as he put his hands up in defense
"so i hear i need to make my kids breakfast" she changed the topic
"indeed you do" allie told her
as jackie was re-stirring the mix and turning the gas of the stove on she asked, "so how did this happen exactly"
"they looked away for a second and it burned"
"they?? that was all him. i told him to watch the pancakes so i could quickly go to the bathroom and i came back to him sitting on the couch on his phone and the pancakes burning" gina explained her side of the story
"okay wow that is so untrue" chris said defending himself.
"ok so then what's the truth?" gina asked
chris didn't reply instead he just sighed because he knew he was defeated.
"thats what i thought" gina said as she patted chris' back.
"okay anyways.." allie said trying to serve the subject.
"way to go dumbfucks" jackie said
when the pancakes finished cooking to a golden brown jackie turned off the stove.
"okay get a plate if you want pancakes"
soon after she said that there was a line of everyone with plates in their hand waiting to be served their breakfast. jackie went one by one, giving each person one pancake to start of with so everyone could get at least one.
when it came to the last person in line, he was the only person who said, "thank you" matt said
"you're welcome" jackie said in return with a smile
"CHRIS we don't live here" nick yelled at the boy. jackie turned to see syrup spilled over the table.
"sweet baby jesus" she said under her breath
she got a wet paper towel and walked over to start cleaning the mess up.
"sorry i'll clean it up" chris said taking the paper towel from her hands, she smiled and nodded at the brunette boy and got her own pancake off the stove to eat.
everyone finished their breakfast and were coming up with ideas to do for the day.
"target?" jackie asked the group, they all agreed and shortly made their way over there.
chris got the aux and played some 2000's hits the whole way there. as the group walked inside jackie knew exactly where she was going to go.
"i need a new phone charger so ill catch back up with you guys in a couple minutes" she said the the group
jackie spooned arrived in the electronics isle to look for a charger
"you won't want that brand, it crap" jackie looked up to see a dirty blonde haired boy with a black nike sweatshirt on.
"im sorry?" she was quite confused because who randomly says to a stranger what charger not to get
"those chargers breaks really easily, i suggest getting this" he said as he grabbed a 6ft charger off the rack that was attached to the wall.
"oh thank you.." she waited, implying for him to say his name
"brayden"
"thank you brayden"
"you're welcome...
"jackie"
"well you're welcome, jackie"
she smiled and went back to the group after grabbing the charger brayden suggested.
