We begin this chapter in a completely different place and time from where we last left off, with Subaki standing in the streets of the market in the early day, a haunted look on her face as she looks to the sight of Y/n and the shopkeep who sold Appas and told them about Felt's home talking to each other before the shopkeep's eyes wandered to Sybaki with a little concern, their voices muffled yet slowly returning as she could barely hear what was being said 

Shopkeep: "Hey, is your friend alright? She looks like she's seen a ghost?" 

Hearing this, Y/n turned to face Subaki with a look of concern on his face as she saw hers, placing a hand on her shoulder as he spoke 

Y/n: "Suu? You alright?" 

With her hearing still shot, Subaki placed a hand to her ear to try and hear them better 

Subaki: "Huh?" 

Y/n: "I said, are you alright?"

Subaki: "Huh?!" 

A small frown appeared on Y/n's face as he looked more concerned before turning back to the shopkeeper as he spoke 

Y/n: "I'm sorry about bothering you sir, we'll be going now" 

Shopkeeper: "Whatever" 

As the shopkeeper turned his attention away, Y/n turned back to Subaki before gently grabbing her hand and walked away, slowly pulling her along as her hearing finally returned but said nothing as she couldn't believe what she was seeing, looking around and seeing the daytime as she thought to herself 

Subaki: 'What's going on? It was nighttime just a few minutes ago, right?' 

Looking to her stomach, she then had a flashback to what felt like mere moments ago of her falling to the ground in a pool of her own blood while next to her laid the body of Satella before the flashback ended as she lifted her jacket to reveal her stomach with now wounds on it 

Subaki: 'the wound on my stomach is gone...' 

Her thoughts were momentarily derailed as Y/n's hand moved from the hand he was holding to pull down her jacket 

Y/n: "Suu? What's wrong?" 

Subaki: 'Y/n... you're...'

Another flashback played in Subaki mind as it showed her and Satella walking into the building that the criminals who had stolen Satella's insignia were supposedly hiding but as they entered, Subaki shone her phone's flashlight around the room to see that by the counter laid the body of an older man, the two gasping but before they could react, the sound of metal clattering to the ground could be heard, getting their attention as they whipped around to look at the source before they gasped

Laying against what was the remnants of a table was the corpse of Y/n, blood pouring from his torso as it was now sliced open and what looked to be a part of his ribcage was missing while his intestines hung from the wound and his left hand was missing, the metal noise from earlier being his mask as it had fallen from his face and onto the ground, landing in the growing pool of blood before the scene then changed back to the present as tears were developing inSubaki's eyes 

Subaki: "...Alive" 

Y/n: "Hm?" 

Subaki: "You're...You're alive!" 

Subaki didn't give the confused Y/n time to react before pulling him into a hug while he froze up for a moment before he slowly hugged back as Subaki could barely hear the faintest of whispers from Y/n's chest

Y/n: "Y-Yeah...last I checked I was. What's wrong Suu?" 

Instead of answering, her eyes widened as she realized it was only the two of them, she grabbed Y/n's hand and started to pull him along, much to his confusion yet he just went with it
