goddamn I was hoping to not run into a flopnari player

So I meant to make this chapter two weeks ago and publish it, but I chose to wait for a bit longer to see any other co-op reactions.

I've been doing co-op every day (couple times a day) with my friend (Aaron) who owns Tighnari. Ever since Tighnari's design and personality dropped, Aaron immediately wanted him and kept showing me every leak that popped up.

With the controversy around the Sumeru characters, we decided to do some domain co-op and see if we would get any assholes. I saw some people online talking about how they're getting attack for playing Tighnari in co-op and so we were curious to see if it would be the same for Aaron.

First, we did co-op with him as the host. For the majority of the rounds, it was quiet with nobody talking. Some "hi" and "hey" and a "sorry" when the player dies, but that's about it.

But unfortunately, we did run into some assholes in this one game:

(Btw, some messages were actually split into multiple parts since they were too long for Genshin, but to make things easier to read, I'm just going to put all the text together)

Asshole #1: Goddamn I was hoping to not run into a Flopnari player-

Asshole #2: AND a racist and anti-black lmao

Aaron: How am I racist and anti-black...? I don't understand?

#2: bc u literally pulled for a chara whose suppose to be black

Me: did you mean dark skinned? You DO know that not all dark skinned people are Black, right?

#1: bruh shut up youre racism is showin

Aaron: It is your*. And my friend didn't say anything wrong nor was she rude. Again, properly explain to me how I'm racist and anti-black.

#2: um let me ask you this - you like cyno?

Me: yeah we both do. Been excited for his release since Webtoon

#2: then ur racist and anti-black bc hes also a black male chara but they made him white

#1: whitewashing-

Aaron: He isn't whitewashed though. I don't believe you two are understanding what the term means. Either way, Cyno has always had tan skin in the Webtoon. The designer has always made him have tan skin.

Me: pale skinned poc exist too lol....

#2: no they dont??

#1: poc literally means person of color i- are y'all 2 years old or??? if you got white skin, u are white period.

Aaron: You both obviously ignorant. My friend is a pale skinned Asian. My other friend is a pale skinned Black. They are both people of color.

Me: people of color are just people who aren't White, aka Caucasian.

#2: k flopnari lovers byeeeeee~

#1: im reporting both of y'all!

Another game:

Asshole #3: host, are you playing tighnari?

Aaron: Yes, is there a problem?

#3: change please.

Aaron: No, thanks. I like playing as Tighnari.

#3: he doesn't do any damage tho- there's a reason why people hate him js

Aaron: Okay, then they can keep hating on a fictional character and being bitter while I enjoy playing him.

Me: you can quietly leave if you don't want to play with a Tighnari player lol

#3: k whatever you guys are so cringe

Then we tried having Aaron connect with other people instead (so he isn't the host anymore). I tried to connect in with him but wasn't able to except for two of the games.

Another game:

Asshole: Host, kick Tighnari please!!!

Another player: stfu twitter user

Asshole: lmao is that the only insult you got?

Player: you anti tighnaris are always attacking them for no reason. and majority of y'all are from toxic brain dead twitter so yeah - stfu twitter user

Aaron: Thank you. I've already gotten attacked in previous games. It's getting tiring, honestly.

Player: np you keep doing you and ignore those brain dead losers. It's just a game lmao they pressed over nothing

Host: sorry Aaron but I'm kicking you out sorry!

Aaron: Why?

Player: wtf you too host?

Host: I don't want to make anyone upset. I hope you can find a new game Aaron

He got kicked while typing a response. But good thing from that game is he made a new friend with that player who defended him! They ended up adding Aaron and messaged him a "sorry that happened" and told him they left the game right after scolding the host lol.

This is exactly like the problem with anyone who plays as any of the starter characters, Qiqi, or Kokomi - a lot of these people got kicked out or had assholes saying rude things. I don't know if it's still a common thing nowadays, but I remember so many people were sharing their co-op kicks and insults they got just because they wanted to play as those characters.

Have any of you guys who play as Tighnari gotten assholes in your co-op games? Just remember that some random stranger's responses aren't important. Keep playing as Tighnari if you enjoy playing as him and don't let jerks bother you guys!
