It wasn't until another ten minutes of the same, persistant ringing in her ears, that Max realised she could feel her muscles again.
About thirty minutes ago she'd woken on the cold concrete floor. Her sight had gone and a terrifying paralysis had taken over her body. The blur in her eyes was clearing now, but she couldn't remember what she'd been doing, nor what had happened to her.
It wasn't long before she started to feel the warm surge of blood, making its way back into her limbs. After about 2 minutes, she managed to roll onto her side, a low groan escaping her throat as she did so.
She took a look at the surrounding area, three words on her mind...
