KENJI LETS OUT A LOW WHISTLE. Castle is chasing after Adam and I frown. It's even clearer now that whatever they're up to, Adam's not one hundred percent sure he wants to continue. It's dangerous, probably.
Juliette and Kenji stay in deep conversation while I decide to follow them. I don't trust Adam. Never have. And he's made it immensely clear he shares those feelings for me. As for Castle; I've known the man for two weeks and all I know is that he's the leader of this movement. I desperately need to know more. Especially if he's going to be doing whatever he's doing to Adam to me eventually.
So I start walking.
"Hey—Hey—Hey!" Kenji's arm stops me, grabbing mine and I ignore the way it feels because I'm far too interested in what Adam and Castle are doing. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" His eyes are wild.
I shrug. "Following your friends."
"Okay," He raises a finger. "they're not my friends." He frowns at the ceiling. "Well, Castle is but Kent's just gotten way too mean lately—"
"While that's a great story," I say, "I really need to get going—"
I try to get out from his grasp but he's too much muscle stuffed into a single person.
"Let go." I demand carefully.
He steps closer. Leans his head down to meet my eye level. "You're not going anywhere, Florence."
I arch a brow at the mention of my actual name. I don't know how many times he's actually said it and it feels strange to hear it. Like I've done something wrong. Or right. I can't describe it but I've never felt it.
"Kenji," Juliette walks around him. Stands next to me. "Let her go. You're going to take us both to wherever the boys just left to go to. I will personally make sure you suffer if you don't."
Shit.
Kenji pales a little. Takes a moment. Stares at me a lot longer than he should be allowed to. "I hate that I don't hate you." he says quietly.
I manage to crack a grin. "The feeling's not mutual."
He swears again and rolls his eyes. Flips us both off. Walks away and leads us down hallways and corridors. Eventually stops at a concrete wall. He swipes his keycard on something before the wall starts to come apart. Literally. The pieces move and shift until there's an entirely new part of Omega Point in front of us.
My feet hit the ground on the other side.
It's like a cave. Massive, wide, separated into 3 longitudinal sections. The middle section is the most narrow and serves as a walkway; square glass rooms fit with slim glass doors make up the left and right sections. Each clear wall acts as a partition to rooms on either side—everything is see-through.
