                       - INTO THE NIGHT -

Georgia, I-10 heading south
Night of November 5
Sunrise: 6:59 a.m.

If anyone found me in the shed yesterday I don't know what I would have done. The blood I got back in Arizona is almost depleted out of my system, that dizzy feeling as though you could faint everytime the blood lessons a little more.

"I'm going to need to feed soon," I say out loud in my head.

My limbs feel slightly heavy, probably because of how tired I still am and turn to place my phone on camera mode with my back face towards it. I start picking at the broken skin on my back and whince in pain each time. Without any bandages or kit to stabilize the wound I just leave it and cover it up with my jacket that I had in my backpack.

The room I'm in is quite filled up with storage boxes so I peak in each one here and there. Nothing but furniture and some empty boxes, though the inside is a little bigger than what it looks like outside. I start looking around the rooms and find a bathroom with a small bathtub and a cracked mirror. Hopefully there's still water supplied to the taps here so I try one of them but only a few drops which become nothing.

I sit down on the edge of the bathtub and go through my thoughts. Soon thoughts of the Camarilla goes through my head. A group of much older vampires, controlled by a royal of some sort. Rumours went around that he governs them and gives jobs to new vamps like me through one of his many bodyguards. I mean if I wasn't so desperate back then I wouldn't have done this but it turned into a thing of me being forced into stuff I didn't want to do. I met Sebastian Walker on one of my courier runs and we would help each other out a few times. He was my friend, a friend that was also dragged into this because he had no other way to survive in a world like this. We had some good times and he wanted out, we wanted out so he just dropped his delivery and ran, on the run to freedom.

It was risky and I was asked several times to join him but I just couldn't. Now I'm still stuck here making runs for a bunch of shitty vampires. I've never seen him since, since about 5 years ago.

I sit and stare at myself, my long black hair just dangling there. That faint noise I hear but can't quite make out what it is.

Eventually I get up and go the room I slept in and peep out behind the wooden boards

Eventually I get up and go the room I slept in and peep out behind the wooden boards.
Three people with flashlights are headed my way. FOOD!

I head closer to the main door of the building and watch from a distance. An elderly woman accompanied by two middle aged men wearing construction work uniforms unlock and open the door. They stare around for a bit and start hauling out the boxes one by one.

"SHIT!" I think.

My backpack with my map is still in the other room. Sooner or later my things will be hauled out too.

Elderly woman: "John, dear could come here and see this."

John: "Someone must have camped here, let's check out the building to make sure they aren't still here."
