JONQUIL POV

I ran my hand over the velvety red of my gown and felt the material beneath my palms, I'd always loved that feeling. My hand drew little patterns in the fabric before coming to rest over the small swell of my belly.

"So, when are you going to tell Rhaenyra?"

I sighed out and looked to the Hightower girl sat across from me. "I don't know, it's not a big deal really, it's not like I haven't done it before."

"Jonny." She chuckled in shock, smacking my knee. "You should be happy."

I shifted closer and took Alicent's hand in my own. "I shall be sure to tell you the same when your pushing the giant head of it out of your cunt."

We both giggled. "But I do expect to be named your first child's Godmother, my friend."

"Only if I get to be Godmother to yours when he gets here."

"She."

How can you be so sure?" She tilted her head and scrunched up her brow.

I opened my mouth to tell her it was mother's intuition but I was cut off by Rhaenyra's return.

The ground shook as the beast landed and I gripped to edge of the seat with one hand and rubbed the back of my head, which had banged into the metal wall of the carriage, with the other.

Alicent snorted and rubbed the back of my head too but I playfully smacked her hand away before snorting myself and letting her drag me up and out the door.

"Syrax is growing quickly, she'll soon be as large as Caraxes." Alicent commented from the step below me.

"That's almost large enough to saddle two, maybe even three." Rhaenyra looked around Alicent at me.

"I believe I'm quite content as a spectator." The girl infront of me said before turning around and coming back in so we could make our journey back to the Red Keep.

I pressed myself against the door and let her go past. "Well I for one would gladly ride with you, Rhaenyra." Aurelius had taken me riding on Stormtide, although he called Llanstormydd which was her name in Albionen, for our wedding night and I had quite enjoyed it. It was the only thing in our marriage that I enjoyed and it had only happend that one night, six years ago.

I scrunched up my nose as she walked into the carriage behind Alicent. "You stink." She punched my arm and we all broke out in a fit of laughter that grew even louder when the carriage started and Rhaenyra, who had still been standing, fell onto Alicent's lap.

The ride back to the Red Keep atop Aegon's High Hill continued to be bumpy and full of laughter as we teased one another and tested to see who could stand the longest before falling back down again. I would definitely have more than a few bruises in the morning so I was glad when we arrived before I could gain anymore, plus all the motion was making me nauseous.

When we exited the carriage Rhaenyra locked arms with Alicent and I as we walked through the courtyards and passages to Rhaenyra's room so she could change from her riding clothes before going to see her mother, Queen Aemma.

"Ah, Rhaneyra, you know I don't like you to go flying when I'm in this condition." Alicent and I smiled knowingly at one another, already knowing what our best friend would say.

"You don't like me to go flying when your in any condition." Her daughter retorted.

"Your Grace." The two of us greeted in unison from behind her daughter..

"Goodmorrow Alicent, Lady Pendragon." I hated when people called me that, I was a Celtigar, I would never be a Pendragon, no matter if my husband bore that name. The girl beside me nudged me and gave me a look as if to say, 'don't start'. I rolled my eyes but did not try to correct the Queen.
