Courtlandt

"I'm so fucking bored," Shani whined as we walked down Melrose, a street in Courtlandt. We had just got some snacks and drinks from the bodega.

"Let's sit right here," she said as we walked up to a table that was just outside of the basketball court.

We sat down and began eating our snacks.

"What you do yesterday?" I asked before popping some candy in my mouth.

"I slept like the whole day... Wait fuck that. Where was you at yesterday? You had Dougie and Kay calling me, waking me up and shit, to ask if we was together. I told them that you were but still," Shani spoke, after taking a sip of her drink.

"I was chilling with Jay all day yesterday. We were just kicking it at the park and I lost track of time. And before you know it the sun was going down. I almost had a heart attack when I realized I'd left my phone in my car," I said as I recalled the events from yesterday.

"It was insane how many missed calls and text messages I had. They were livid when I got home. But they didn't stay mad for too long because I'd stopped and got them something to eat before heading home," I continued, pulling out my phone.

"That food probably saved you from getting your ass beat up and down 187th," Shani laughed.

"Nah real shit," I laughed with her.

"What you doing? Texting Jay?" She teased before looking over at my phone screen. She smacked her lips when she saw that I was just checking the stock market. "Bro you mad boring. Do you do anything else?" She asked.

"No, not really. What else is there to do?" I asked, making her think.

I saw her eyes light up, "Lemme make you an Instagram."

"I don't know Shani..."

"Please? Please? Please Moni?" She begged over and over again.

"Ok," I gave in after getting annoyed.

"Yay!" She said before taking the phone from my hands. I watched as she downloaded Instagram and set up my profile.

"Here. Imma go live and tell people to follow you," she said handing me my phone back.

She propped her phone up in front of us against her drink that was on top of the table. She clicked on the Instagram icon and went live.

"Wassup y'all," Shani said as we watched as the number of viewers jumped to four hundred. I fixed my hair as I silently read the comments, most of them being about the party.

"Yeah, we was in that bitch going crazy until Dougie shut it down. He swears he runs shit," Shani complained making me laugh.

"Yo who got the video?" I said under my breath while reading one of the comments.

"Bestie stand up and show 'em something real quick." I stood up behind Shani and she turned around switching to the back camera.

"Alright go," she said. I bent over slightly, doing a simple side-to-side motion.

"Yeah! Shake that shit! They wilding in the comments" Shani said giving my ass a couple of light smacks.

"Ayo! Moni cut it out!" I heard a familiar male voice yell making me stop. Shani and I look over seeing Sha Ek and Bdot Goon leaving the basketball court and walking over to us. They're some OG niggas from Courtlandt that my brother is friends with.

"What happened to people minding their own business?" Shani asked when they got over to us.

"Shut up," Ek said tapping the side of her head. Shani just turned around, propping her phone back up. They each gave me a quick side hug because they were sweaty as hell.
