Y/n's POV:

Several months had passed. Nothing much had changed. Sammy was still acting the same. He always made me stay overtime.

Fortunately, that was no longer a problem. Either Susie or Wally would give me a ride to and from work every day. Usually Wally would be the one to pick me up and Susie would be the one to drop me off. Wally was more of a morning person and Susie would normally drive me home since she always stayed a little later than everyone else and left around the same time that Sammy and I would.

Sammy still didn't know about my financial situation. But honestly, I wasn't planning on telling him. It's not like he'd care.

For the longest time, I tried to get Sammy to get more comfortable with me. But no matter how hard I tried, nothing ever worked. So eventually I just gave up. It really would take a miracle for him to warm up to me, and like I had said in the past, I was no miracle worker. So it was dumb of me to expect that I could make a miracle like that happen.

It wasn't as exciting here as I thought it would be. Sammy had told me that it would be "fascinating" in a way that I wasn't expecting. But so far, I wasn't seeing anything too interesting. Neither good nor bad.

I couldn't complain though. I really liked it here. I had lots of friends, and pretty much everyone other than Sammy was really nice.

Today Susie had offered to pick me up, which was unusual since she normally liked to sleep in for as long as she could, giving her no time to do anything other than to go straight to work. But apparently she had some errands to do which she wanted to get over with early in the morning before going to work and decided to pick me up on her way there.

Once she pulled up to my house and texted me to let me know that she had arrived, I left my place and headed towards her car.

"Hey, y/n!" she said with an odd enthusiasm for the time of day. "Are you ready for work?"
I groaned. "I never am."

"I don't blame you," said Susie with a bit of a laugh before putting her car in drive. "You and Sammy are working on that song for the newest cartoon, right?"

"Yeah," I bemoaned. "It's been a lot of work. Why do you ask?"

"Oh, I'm just curious," she said. "I'm excited to start voice acting for the episode that goes with your music! Based on the bits and pieces that I've heard from the song, I think I'm going to have fun with this one!"

"Susie, you always love voice acting for Alice Angel," I said.

"Well, I know, but there's something different about this one!" she exclaimed. "Speaking of Sammy, how are things going with you two?"

"They're as good as they can be," I sighed, staring ahead of me. "Ever since the day I started working at the studio, Tom has been telling me about how Sammy is going to start getting more comfortable around me, and how he'll finally lighten up to me."

"Oh...?" she prodded.

"And he hasn't. At all."

"I see," she noted. I looked over at her to see that she had a slightly relieved look on her face.

"Anyway, on the bright side, he's become less picky about my music," I continued. "He's still bossy about it, but he's not as demanding about making sure that I have everything perfect like he used to be."

"That must be a relief," Susie added as if she didn't have anything else to say about it.

"Tell me about it," I agreed. "Heck, maybe that's the reason why the new song is doing so well; I have more control over it!"
