Y/n's POV:

"I knew it! I called it! I called it before anyone else did!"

"Shut up, Wally! Nobody else knows yet!"

Wally and I were sitting in a break room before work started, and I had just told him about everything that happened between Sammy and I yesterday. Sammy would usually be the one to drive me to work, but he told me that he would be a bit late today, so I decided to get a ride from Wally instead. Besides, I was eager to tell him about everything, and this would give me an excuse to catch him up sooner rather than later. I already knew he would be excited, but he was even more ecstatic than I expected.

Wally laughed to himself, leaning back in his seat. "That's such a lie. Everyone knows you like Sammy. And everyone knows he likes you even more."

"Eh, I don't know about that," I hesitated. "I really like him."

"It's about time you admit it!" he exclaimed. "So, are you guys official yet?"

I rolled my eyes. "Sammy and I confessed to each other just yesterday. No, we're not official."

"Oh come on, don't be ridiculous!" Wally scoffed. "You told each other you love each other! You guys even kissed! You've clearly liked each other for months now. You're practically official by this point!"

"I don't want to rush things on him," I protested. "Whenever he wants to make things official, I'll be ready."

"Alright, alright. Whatever you say," he said. "I do have a question though. And you don't have to answer because I know that it's kind of a sensitive subject for you."

I looked at him somewhat confused. "Alright. What's your question?"

"I can't help but be curious... if Susie ever comes back and finds out about you and Sammy, what are you going to tell her?" he asked. "I mean, they were once together."

I shifted in my seat before speaking up. "They weren't exactly... together."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't get me wrong, they liked each other, and there was definitely something going on between them. But they were never official."

"Did she tell you that?" Wally asked.

"No. Sammy did."

"I see," he noted. "Regardless, what would you tell her?"

"Well... I'm not sure," I admitted. "But as much as I wish she would, she's probably not coming back, so I doubt I'll have to come up with anything to tell her."

Wally shrugged. "You never know. It's something to think about."

"Yeah. I guess so."

"Aside from that, I'm happy for you. You two are a good match."

I grinned. "Thanks! I agree. I'm glad I told him how I feel about him. And I'm glad to know that he trusts me to be there for him now."

"Exactly. Speaking of being there for him, you should get to him now. Work is about to start."

I glanced down at my watch to see that it was a little past 8:00. "You're right. I'm late."

"Don't worry about it. At least you know that he's more chill with you now, so I doubt he's going to be upset with you over being late."

"Just a little more chill," I said jokingly as I stood up and picked up my bag. "I'll see you later, Wally. It's always nice to spend time with you."
