Corona, Why Us?

Did this question

Cross your mind ever

Why corona chose us humans

To show off its powers?

I guess maybe

To make us strong

Or could it be to teach us

Moral and ethical lessons?

For the first time in ages

It's about 'humans' as whole

And not about different religions

And races playing their roles

We got a vacation

It gave us some time

To spend with our family

A quality time.

It didn't choose 

Any bird or animal 

Maybe, to show us a glimpse of

Life in confinement

Or maybe it's a punishment

Given by mother nature

For exploiting her and

In turn destroying our future

Like a punishment we get

Every 100 years

Be it the plague of 1720

Or cholera epidemic of 1820

We had the Spanish flu in 1920

And now COVID in 2020

We can say maybe  

It's not about us at all

Who knows, this might be

Nature's way 

Of getting even

Or we can take it

As nature's way to sustain

As these lockdowns and curfews

Mean no mining

Or cutting trees

Let's be optimistic

And see the bright side

Let's try to reduce

The damage we cause

To every natural resource

Try to learn the 

Lesson it's teaching us

And hope nature changes 

It's way of reaching us.
