she sat there, an emptiness overcoming her.
   this wasn't planned.

he wasn't meant to leave her.
   again.

her mascara was everywhere but her eyes, and stained her cheeks with no shame.

she felt hopeless.
weak.
      lifeless.
         dead.

and that was when she realised something else.

he had become her life.
   and somehow,
   she was okay with that.

never did she think that they would meet again in a coffee shop,
then cry behind a coffee shop,
  then lose each other
      again.

losing each other?
no, she was
nowhere
near okay with that.

she scrambled to her feet and ran the fastest she could in her worn-out converse.

which,
surprisingly,
was quite fast.

"hey!"
she caught up with him, and wrapped her hands around his wrists to steady herself.

he looked at her,
both worried
   and surprised.

nevertheless, he stayed silent and waited for her to speak.

"i don't want to go through that again."

that was all she had to say, really.
he understood her immediately anyway.

"i'm surprised you've forgiven me."

she thought back to when she was a stubborn little 18 year old ass that over thought
   e v e r y t h i n g
and couldn't make a single decision in life.

"people change. it's been two years."
and she couldn't have been more right.
