she returned to their table, the place a little emptier than before she left.
   how long was she gone for?

he briefly nodded at her, just as her boss came over.

"and what do you think you're doing?"

she shot the worker a quick and subtle smile.
"my shift is over, so if you don't mind we'd like some menus please." 

with a quick glance at the clock,
and a quiet
(but certainly audible) groan,
two small laminated cards were placed in their hands.
   "thank you!"
she said extremely happily as
the worker walked away.

he tilted his head, looking at her
   dead in the eye.
"you've changed."

she looked u
   "is that a good thing?"

   he contemplated,
   but then nodded,
proceeding to read the meals.
