The game was due to begin in half an hour both teams were out on the pitch warming up. MJ and Mapi started warming up together. They had started some small passing drills.
MJ had started to feel very anxious and Mapi could sense it she knew her sister had been struggling with her mental health. But she hadn't asked her how she had been feeling she knew that her sister was heartbroken after finding out Alexia had moved on so quickly.
But Mapi also knew that her sister was also happy with Alessia. Mapi knew both girls were going to end up together but at the same time, she didn't know if it was too soon for her sister.
GAME TIME
The game had begun and it started very slow from Spain England had come out flying it showed that England wanted the win and that they were not stopping till they got the goal. MJ had gotten the and was going down the wing till she got to Leah MJ had stopped the ball and was waiting for a pain player to make her run when she sensed that someone was making a run and played the ball behind Leah to Mapi when Mapi got it she crossed it and MJ did a diving header and was able to get the ball in the goal. Spain was leading the game now which meant that Spain could finally relax and play simple.
With 20 minutes left of the first half England was found in a dangerous spot where they could score. Toone had the ball and was looking to connect with Russo but when Russo got the ball MJ was quick to step to her and made sure not to give her room to take a shot. Russo was forced to play the ball back to Leah.
With five minutes left Spain was quick to counter-attack MJ had the ball and was looking to cross it when she saw Alexia outside the box wide open and that's where MJ played the ball. Alexia was quick and played one touch and put the ball top corner and it was a goal now Spain was up 2-0.
Both teams were making their way to the locker room. MJ was looking for a certain England player and when she found her she was quick to put her arm around her waist and with that Alessia was quick to relax and they didn't say anything to each other they just walked in silence till they got to the locker rooms and they separated.
The second half was on its way and Spain was controlling the game. They were playing simply and fast they wanted another goal but England was defending well. Alexia was fouled by Russo outside the box and Mapi couldn't help but laugh at this. MJ was quick to make her way towards Russo and MJ went to put her hand on Alessia's back when Alessia shook off her touch and walked away.
Which left MJ very confused about why she did that but she knew she couldn't think about that right now she knew her head had to be in the game. MJ was going to take the free kick and she was very confident about where she would place MJ went for it and it was top right with power and it was in she had scored and she ran towards Mapi and went Mapi let her go she made a figure heart.
With five minutes left in the game, England was able to get a goal during that play MJ made a run toward Keira and that's when she felt something in her knee pop but she kept playing like that even if the pain was too much. Which meant it was now 3-1. The game came to an end and the Spain players were quick to go and say good game to the England girls. MJ made her way toward the athletic trainers she felt as tho something was wrong with her knee and it scared her so she wanted to get it checked out. Mapi was quick to see her sister headed towards a room with the trainers and with that Mapi and Alexia ran towards the room to see what was wrong with her.
The trainer said that it could be her ACL but that they would need to run further tests to see what was actually wrong. The trainer gave MJ some crutches and she was on her way outside with the fans. MJ was broken by the news that she had just gotten but she had to be stronge.
The fans started cheering louder when they saw the trio coming out of the tunnel. All the players on the field turned there heads to the tunnel and most of the England players felt sadness for the Spain player.
Alessia didn't know what to do she couldn't bring herself to go to MJ and she just kept close to the England players. This caused Mapi to get anger at her because why wouldn't she be there fr her girlfriend.
