"Hey, Yuki," Ven, the men's volleyball co-captain called out to the team's captain standing by the court bleachers on the side. The captain, Yuki, is currently taking a sip of water from his bottle. The other volleyball team members are scattered around as they take a break too. Ven jogs to the captain and once he stops before him, he rests his hands on his hips and juts his head to the opposite side of the court. "Who's the new girl sitting far over there? Did you invite her to watch practice?" His voice may have been a bit hushed, but the rest of the team overheard his question.

This prompted the boys to all look in the same direction. Some of them tried to do it sneakily while others made no effort in hiding that they were looking at the new girl sitting innocently at the opposite end of the court - watching the women's basketball team practice play.

Due to the fact that there is only one gym in their school, different sports take turns in using the middle court for practice. The men's volleyball team is taking a break for an hour before they get their turn on the court.

Emin, one of the players, is careful with throwing glances at the new girl. He wouldn't find it surprising if Yuki knew the new girl since he has always been someone who seems always to be...out there, you know? He can talk to anyone and get their attention in a second. Emin can do that, too, but he always has his reservations.

Yuki turns toward Ven to answer, "Oh, that's Rahnee. She's my seatmate in English. I decided to invite her over to watch our practice. No harm in that."

"She's pretty," Ven murmurs. The other players in the team agree too.

"Hmm." Yuki rubs his chin in deep thought. "Could she perhaps be our good luck charm? We've never had a win against Riverbank School this year yet. Maybe someone new could break our losing curse." He grins to himself, happy with this thought that he could test out. He then raises his hand to the air and calls out the girl's name loudly, "Hey, Rahnee! Over here!" He waves his hand. He catches her attention immediately and says, "It's Yuki! How about I introduce you to the guys?"

All the volleyball players saw and heard what Yuki did. It's Emin who goes to Yuki to ask, "What are you doing?"

"I'm testing something out," the other guy answers, the grin still on his face. The girl has now gone down the stairs beside the bleachers and is headed toward them.

"Is this going to be another one of those experiments you always do to bring luck to the team?"

"Shh!" Yuki shushes him, bringing a finger to his lips. "Trust the process, man." Once the girl finally nears them, Yuki opens his arms wide as a welcome gesture. "Nice to see you here, Rahnee!"

The girl smiles at him but stays quiet. Yuki goes to her and wraps an arm around her shoulders as he introduces her to the guys, "Team, this here is Rahnee. She just transferred around a week ago and she promised me that she'll be at every practice of ours from now on."

Rahnee throws the guy an incredulous look. "I-I didn't say that-"

"Now, Rahnee," Yuki interrupts, "the guys are happy to have another supporter for the team, so I think it's best if I introduce you to the guys!" Yuki begins with his co-captain, Ven, then points to every player while saying their name. Rahnee, although flustered with the attention on her, makes it her goal to memorize their names. She wouldn't want to cause a fumble as the new student in the school.
