CHAPTER THIRTY "The Return"
AFTER SPENDING THE WHOLE DAY IN THE MUGGLE WORLD, THE WHOLE GROUP CAME BACK TO HOGWARTS. It was seven in the morning and they had went for their last breakfast together. They sat at the Gryffindor table as usual. Hermione, Ron, Ginny and Itan joining them. Vanya filled them all about yesterday and Hermione's reaction was same as Lily's. They chat and laughed. It was the longest breakfast ever.
Then they went for a walk and just chatted more. They was nothing to do and as the time was coming nearer something was happening in Harry's and Vanya's heart. It felt nervous and hopeless.
McGonagall came and told the group they need to pack and be in her office within an hour. The Marauders havnt brought any clothes with them but they bought some from the store. They decided to put all their stuff in one small truck as it was not much
Marlene only had few items to pack and she was the first to finish. There was a knock on the door. Marlene looked back and smiled at the blonde girl. Vanya was standing near the door
"You have packed I see" she said in a low voice "indeed I've Ve"
Their eyes met and Vanya tried her best not to cry but it was impossible to herself. Her mother was leaving her, again. And she will not see her ever again
Vanya looked away as a tear drop on her cheek. She felt a hand on her shoulder which made her turn to face her mother. Marlene gave her a small smile as she wipe the tear from her face
"I am not good at making people feel better when they are crying but you look hot not gonna lie" this made sixteen year old Vanya giggle
"I- I am so so sorry" she told her mother "I don't get attach to people quickly but when I do I - I don't want them to leave" another tear came out "I wanted to spend more time with you but I felt nervous and - and - oh Godric! You're leaving and I feel awful"
"You're like me more than I thought you'll be" Marlene said "I am always the loudest and the most free person but when it came to you I - I think I chicken out" she shook her head "but we still gave each other the best we could"
"I'll never forget you" Vanya sniffed "I love you mom" she hugged her tightly
