His entire purpose in life is to keep Galaír safe, even stating that should she be captured, he would go so far as to kill Eragon and Saphira for Galbatorix, dooming Alagaësia, just to save his rider. Aldarion often calls his rider "Aiedail" in the ancient language which means Morning Star to show affection. The name Aldarion suggests ancient wisdom, valor, and a connection to the elven realms.

Family: Was falsely accused of betrayal against the dragon riders and killed by Brom. He later finds out that the Silvrenthorns had been framed by Morzan. So Brom took the only living member of the family and with old elven magic he hid her away with her dragon.

Weapon: an elvish Double-Bladed Polearm named Aeglos (Snow Thorn) The double blades, like frost-covered thorns, cut through enemies with grace and precision. The blades reflect moonlight. pronounced as "AY-glos". Again, the emphasis is on the first syllable, and the "g" is pronounced like the "g" in "go." The polearm becomes an extension of their spirit, a legacy passed down through generations of Elven warriors. The word gochel is engraved in the handle which means ice and envelopes the blades with crystalline essence of ice. Pronounced as "GOH-khel". The emphasis is on the first syllable, and the "kh" sound is similar to the "ch" in "loch."
