My heart

One week past

I tried so hard to stay strong, it's been a week, and I haven't really had much sleep. "Are you ready?" Marcus asked. I stood up and straightened out my suit, giving Marcus a thankful smile that he half-heartedly returned.

We were both trying so hard to stay strong. Lilith hasn't left her room, and she wouldn't talk to anyone.

"I've never been more ready." I said, nodding my head and putting my Mafia game face on. My blood was hot with a fierce anger but my heart, my heart was completely shattered into a million remains.

It consumed me so much that I would find it hard to sleep, hard to eat... hard to exist.

"We both know that Elaina would want you to do this, ever since she knew" Marcus said, a grave expression on his face but his eyes held a fury that matched mine.

"And damn she would thank me, she deserved more" I murmured, looking down at the floor when I felt tears start to spring to my face. Gosh Lionel, don't cry, this is not you.

I heard Lilith come out her room, and she just stood there and starred, even though Marcus and Lilith have been an argument, she still went up to him and gave him a reassuring hug, I can tell he really needed it. She then came up to me, and did the same, I really don't take any hugs from other people, unless it was her... My beautiful angle

But I still hugged her, damn I really needed this...

She stepped back, Marcus looked away, seeking comfort in Lilith who stood right alongside him with both holding hands. We were all hurting

Marcus had Lilith; my brother had Sophia. Me? I was supposed to have Elaina. I was supposed to protect her, and fails to do so.

"Come on, you got a job to do" Marcus said, his voice hard with a newfound strength. I swallowed hard, following him downstairs into the seclude basement. At the closed metal door, I squeezed my fists closed knowing the disaster I would cause, if I didn't control myself.

I pulled out my gun "I'll be right behind you. Lilith, go wait for us upstairs." Marcus instructed and Lilith nodded. Already knowing his attempt to stop me would be useless.

Marcus effortlessly twirled his knife around his fingers, a blood-seeking vengeance taking over the both of us. When he opened the door, that feeling heightened to the greatest lengths and I grit my molars together.

Elora was in the middle of the room, her wrists bounded by a chain hanging from the ceiling as she balanced on the tips of her toes. The sight should have had me grimacing, but a sadistic smirk made its way to my lips instead.

She lifted her head when she heard us entering, a patronizing but tired smile in her clapped lips. She had been dangling like that for at least two days and it was finally time for me to settle my scores.

"I still don't understand why you have me here; I didn't do anything" Elora said watching me as I walked to the tray in the corner of the room. Marcus was quiet behind me as I set my gun down.

Humming and pursing my lips in thought at the item I should use, I opted for a scalpel. "What? You think you some hot mafia king now? You won't do shit to a woman" Elora remarked, grinning when I stood right in from of her.

She was sweaty, dirty and she smelled like she came straight from the dumpster. "What you going to, huh? Come on, you can't hurt me, I mean Liv did tell me you are a good man to have sex with" I licked my teeth, titling my head to the side.

"I've always been the mafia sweetheart" I finally spoke out; I traced the scalpel along the cheek. "You see, you think your innocent, but in reality, you did some real shit, that got me mad furious" I said
