"Metal Straw?"

"Hm?" Metal Straw looked at Timey. The two had been hanging out all day, and were now each sitting on a bench, knowing the setting Sun meant they'd have to part ways again soon. "What is it?"

"I was wondering about something..."

Metal Straw was unsure why Timey wasn't just saying it. "Go on..."

"Uh... I don't want to lose your friendship, you know?"

Metal Straw smiles, lifting an eyebrow a bit, unsure what Timey was getting at. "I'd hate to lose yours as well... Is something the matter?"

Timey stares at a dandelion poking out from the grass, swaying in the wind.

"Well... I enjoy hanging out with you a lot."

"Okay? So?"

Timey lets out a long sigh. "I... I think I might love you like... More than a friend."

Metal Straw is quiet.

Timey feels nervous.

The few seconds of silence felt so long, but finally, Metal Straw spoke.

"Same."

Timey's face lit up. "Really?!"

Metal Straw smiled. "Yes."

"WOAH!!" Timey exclaimed, hugging onto Metal Straw. "YAY!!"

Metal Straw chuckled and hugged them back. "When did you realize you liked me?"

"I don't even know! I was unsure for a while but... My relationship with you just feels special to me..."

Metal Straw caressed Timey's arm. "If I'm honest... My first impression of you was a bit... weirded out, no offense. But, after spending time with you... You're probably the best thing that's happened to me."

The two went back and forth with their affection, until it was time for Timey to go home. Metal Straw walked Timey home.

They walked Timey home the following day as well. And the day after that. And the day after that.

Another day Metal Straw walked Timey home, but Timey felt as if a brick was thrown at them seeing beeps dad, Analog, at the door, waiting.

"There you are... Don't stay out so late," their dad said, "and who's this?"

"This is my- this is Metal Straw," Timey explained.

"Nice to meet you!" Metal Straw said, holding out her hand.

"Please, don't keep Timey out for so long, thanks," Analog mumbled, grabbing Timey's arm, and pulling them inside, leaving Metal Straw standing outside.

As soon as the front door was shut, Analog glared at Timey.

"What?" Timey asked.

"What do you mean 'what'? You should've been back, not hanging around with? Whoever that was!"

"I didn't know you'd be home early today," Timey said.

"Oh, so this is a habit? I got done early today, so I figured I'd come home and make you dinner since I know you are too lazy to do it yourself. But now I'm not even sure I should go through the trouble."

Timey sighed. "Dad, I know you want to protect me, but Metal Straw has my back, and-"

"Don't tell me you're going through one of your phases again..."

Timey groaned. "Why is that your explanation for how I act? I've been like this for years! He makes me happy, dad!"

"You're gonna get killed one of these days hanging around with weird people late at night..."

Timey rolled their eyes, scowled, and ran up to beeps room.

They jumped into their bed and sighed. Now their dad knew about Metal Straw... Beep knew beep should've just not said anything, but they slipped.

It'd be okay.

However, as days went by, their dad seemed to express more disapproval of Timey hanging around Metal Straw, especially when Timey explained how much fun it was. He'd come around, right?
