It's that time of the month.
Again.
But unlike the previous months, her blood is rushing out like a waterfall this month—probably about thrice as much as normal levels. To make matters worse, the cramps are crippling at a near death extent, and it took her all the strength she could muster just to get herself off the bed.
Tobirama, concerned at her state, has offered her pain relief, but she decided it would be better if she got through this on her own. Dependence on meds wouldn't be good in the long run, she reminded him, but he still gave her some anyway, just in case.
The bell just rang, signaling the end of another school week. Tobirama and [y/n] are both clearing up when an obnoxious laugh tears through the chatter, drawing all eyes on whoever just did that.
"Oh, [y/n] is leaking!"
A hurried glance at her behind reveals, to her dismay, a dark red blotch right in the middle of her pants.
Her eyes screw shut: the lack of blood is making her feel a bit lightheaded.
"[Y/n]," Sakura whispers, concerned. "Do you need—"
"I'm fine, Sakura, just a bit out of breath." She cuts her best friend off gently. A deep breath, then a sigh, then she turns to whoever just teased her. "So? Do you have a problem?"
"Red. Such an embarrassing color," he sticks his tongue out at [y/n]. "Shame on you for not keeping it in!"
Deidara.
"Without menstruation, you wouldn't exist, dickhead," she spits. She tends to be more savage, and more short-tempered, when she's on her period.
"What was that?!" He slams an open palm on a desk, but [y/n] doesn't even flinch.
"I said. Without menstruation, you wouldn't exist. Dickhead," she repeats, emphasizing each word—and especially that last one.
"You bitch! What's so great about periods anyway? Girls get even sissier, rolling around and clutching their stomachs like idiots. Not to mention the sight of blood." A shiver passes through him, yet his mocking expression tells [y/n] otherwise.
She simply glares daggers at him for a moment before she finally speaks through her teeth. "You wait here." Then she spins on her heels and storms away.
"Oh," he hoots, "so you can bawl your eyes out in the bathroom?"
Tobirama follows her with concerned eyes. For a few seconds he's stuck between chasing after her and punching that brash idiot until he passes out, but apparently, [y/n] has other plans.
She returns shortly, a ball of white in her hands, her expression still stoically pissed.
If Tobirama's not mistaken...that ball looks like a sanitary pad.
"What's that you got there?" The bully leans in to look, "Oh—"
In less than a second, she's unfurled the thing—
It really is a sanitary pad. Soaked with fresh blood, at that.
—then shoved it straight into Deidara's mouth.
The entire classroom is stunned into awed silence.
Including Tobirama.
Deidara's face is already contorted beyond recognition in shocked disgust, writhing as if he just contracted an incurable disease.
"How about that?" Her tone is low, threatening. A hard punch in the gut, "Keep that down!"
He gags as his throat makes dry, retching sounds.
